Position Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Director to lead all legal, compliance, and regulatory matters for our global gaming business. This role requires a strategic legal leader with deep expertise in corporate, commercial, intellectual property, and regulatory frameworks, capable of supporting international expansion, safeguarding our content and platforms, and ensuring compliance with fast-evolving gaming and digital regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Gaming Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

Ensure compliance with gaming, entertainment, and digital platform regulations in multiple jurisdictions (e.g., US, EU, Japan, Korea, Singapore). Oversee age-rating, content review, probability disclosure, and in-game purchase compliance. Monitor regulatory developments in online gaming, user protection, and government policies.

Corporate & Commercial Legal

Draft, review, and negotiate agreements specific to gaming operations, including IP licensing, publishing, development, collaboration, vendor, and platform agreements. Provide legal advice on corporate governance, equity financing, and shareholder matters. Develop and maintain standardized contract templates and playbooks.

Cross-Border Expansion & Transactions

Lead legal aspects of international expansion, including entity setup, local compliance, and coordination with external counsel. Support M&A, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships in the gaming industry.

Disputes & Risk Management

Oversee dispute resolution for user complaints, IP infringement, platform issues, and regulatory investigations. Identify and mitigate legal risks related to online content, user-generated materials, and monetization models.

Leadership & Team Management

Lead, mentor, and develop the in-house legal team. Build and manage relationships with leading external counsel across global gaming hubs.

Requirements

LL.M. or equivalent postgraduate law degree from a leading institution preferred. 10+ years of experience, including top-tier law firm and in-house roles in the gaming, entertainment, or technology industry. Strong background in corporate, commercial, M&A, and regulatory matters. Proven ability to advise on global gaming compliance (e.g., content regulation, data privacy, in-app purchases, platform rules). Deep understanding of IP licensing, publishing models, and digital platform partnerships. Business-oriented, pragmatic, and able to balance risk management with commercial objectives. * Strong leadership skills with experience managing legal teams and external counsel.
