Job Description

Wood is currently recruiting for a Lifting and Transportation Engineer to support our growing operations in Singapore. You will be responsible for the execution of project work in accordance with company procedures within the man-hour and cost budgets.


The Role



Assures the quality and integrity of each project, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget. Using in-house construction management procedures and experience, provide continuity and consistency of construction management with quality assurance and reliable control. Oversees total construction field effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, specifications, budgets and schedules. Lifting and Transportation Plans : Provide studies for lifting and transportation plans during project engineering phase, to provide construction inputs for optimization of project design and cost estimate. Design and analysis: Create 2D and 3D plans for lifting operations, design lifting equipment, and perform engineering calculations to determine load limits and structural integrity. Project planning: Develop lift plans for complex operations, including equipment analysis and operational procedures. Safety and compliance: Assess project safety, develop risk management plans, ensure adherence to safety regulations, and train personnel on safe practices and equipment use. Safety and compliance : Review of contractors' lifting and transportation plans to ensure compliance to safety requirements and safe execution. Equipment management: Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of lifting equipment such as cranes, hoists, and elevators. Site supervision: Ensure ground conditions are safe for lifting operations and liaise with contractors and other parties to ensure projects are executed efficiently and safely. Site Supervision : Carry out site supervision of critical lifts / transportation as required. Transportation planning: Analyze traffic data, predict future flow patterns, and conduct feasibility studies for transportation infrastructure like roads, ports, and airports. Problem-solving: Troubleshoot structural and mechanical issues and adapt plans to overcome unexpected challenges. Constructability Studies : Conduct constructability studies, beyond lifting and transportation. Includes installation methodology, temporary facilities requirement, schedule etc.
Presentation and Training : Conduct presentation of Constructability/Lifting/Transportation plans to clients. Conduct trainings to project/contractors team members as required



Qualifications:



Degree/Diploma or local equivalent in engineering or related discipline (essential) Relevant Singapore Ministry of Manpower Workplace Safety and Health trainings Technical trainings in related field

Knowledge, skills and experience:



10+ years relevant experience (Preferably in the associated industry) Strong understanding of structural engineering, mechanics, and the principles of heavy lifting, including cranes, hoists, and rigging. Knowledge of transportation systems, including highways, rail, and ports, is also required. Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD) and other engineering analysis tools is often necessary. High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format Proficient in local authority regulations related to construction Proficient in construction methodology
