The Lifting Supervisor is responsible for planning, supervising, and ensuring all lifting operations are carried out safely and efficiently in accordance with statutory regulations and company procedures. The role involves coordinating with lifting teams, verifying equipment certifications, and preventing accidents during crane and lifting activities on construction, marine, or industrial sites.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and supervise all lifting and hoisting operations at the worksite.
Ensure lifting plans, risk assessments, and permits are properly prepared and approved before work begins.
Inspect lifting gears, slings, shackles, and cranes to ensure they are certified and in good condition.
Ensure proper rigging methods and load securing techniques are used.
Assign and brief riggers, signalmen, and crane operators before each lift.
Ensure exclusion zones are established and the lifting area is clear and safe.
Monitor weather and site conditions to determine if lifting operations can proceed safely.
Stop unsafe lifting operations and take corrective action immediately.
Maintain proper records of lifting activities, permits, and inspections.
Liaise with site management, safety officers, and clients regarding lifting operations.
Requirements:
Minimum Education: Secondary school education or equivalent.
Mandatory Certificates (Singapore):
Lifting Supervisor Safety Course (LSSC) - MOM approved
Apply Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) in Construction Sites (CSOC)
Rigger and Signalman certificates (added advantage)
Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in lifting operations or crane supervision.
Knowledge: Familiar with WSH (Operations of Cranes) Regulations, lifting plans, and risk management.
