Role Overview

We are looking for a

Linux Administrator

to join our IT infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will assist in managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux-based systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime. This role is perfect for someone eager to build a strong foundation in system administration and grow into a more senior infrastructure role over time.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in installing, configuring, and maintaining Linux servers and related systems. Monitor system performance, resource utilization, and uptime to ensure reliability. Perform routine system checks, backups, and patch updates. Support user accounts, permissions, and access control across Linux environments. Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues as needed. Help implement and maintain security best practices for Linux systems. Collaborate with senior administrators and DevOps teams on deployment and configuration tasks. Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, changes, and procedures.

Required Skills

Basic understanding of Linux operating systems (Ubuntu, CentOS, or Red Hat). Familiarity with command-line tools, shell scripting, and package management. Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SSH). Understanding of file systems, permissions, and system logs. Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn. Ability to follow processes and work collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Skills

Experience with virtualization tools (VMware, VirtualBox, or KVM). Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP). Basic understanding of automation tools like Ansible or Puppet. Familiarity with Git or version control systems.
