Job Description

The developer\'s role encompasses designing and implementing new functionalities and maintenance fixes for a global Equities position keeping system. The system is utilized across regions like APAC, EMEA, and AMRS, and has dedicated first-line support available during each region\'s Trading hours. The team includes an Application owner and Analyst, who assist with requirements and business discussions.
As part of the team, the developer will have opportunities to work on efficiency enhancements, address issues, and expand the platform\'s functionality and scalability to meet evolving demands. Testing changes and investigating discrepancies play a vital role in the release process, and the team collaborates to resolve problems and share their experiences with known issues.

Responsibilities:

• Implement various functionalities in a distributed, high volume, low-latency, multi-threaded event processing platform using core Java technologies in a Linux environment and Agile setting.
• Be involved with all aspects of the development lifecycle: requirements discussions, development, testing, release, and support queries

Who you are:

• 3+ years of professional core Java development experience
• 3+ years of professional development experience
• Good understanding of object-oriented design and development principles
• Working knowledge of the Java garbage collector, familiar with concurrent low latency I/O
• Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or similar required
• Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and integrity
• Able to take responsibility for investigating and resolving queries, but aware of when to ask for help
• Can demonstrate ability to work in a multi-faceted role (development, testing, support analysis, release co-ordination)
• Experience in the following would be a plus but eagerness to learn is also welcomed:

• developing in Linux, multi-threaded, large scale, fault tolerance systems
• basic SQL queries
• Agile framework: JIRAs and Confluence
• Azul Zing, FIX Trading Protocol
• messaging services like TIBCO RV / EMS, JMS, AMPS, Apache Kafka
• front-end tools like Java AWT, Google webtool kit
• financial industry
