[What the role is]
Assistant Engineer, Vehicle Safety Control
[What you will be working on]
You will be part of the team administering periodic inspection regime and safety recall system for in-use vehicles, and LTA-appointed scrapyard scheme for disposal of de-registered vehicles.
Your role includes performing hands-on inspection of motor vehicles to identify illegal modifications and assess roadworthiness, as well as conducting audits on motor dealers, LTA-authorised inspection centres and LTA-appointed vehicle scrap yard operators.
You will address customers' enquiries and feedback over phone, emails, online feedback system or face-to-face on vehicle safety requirements and vehicle engineering policies.
In addition, you will support engineers in research studies on new vehicle technology and standards, as well as implement measures to enhance the vehicle inspection and recall processes.
[What we are looking for]
Knowledge in Automotive / Mechanical / Mechatronics / Electrical / Electronics Engineering disciplines. Candidates with NITEC must have at least 3 years relevant working experience Able to work independently and multi-task in a dynamic environment Service-oriented, and possess good communication, writing and interpersonal skills * Good knowledge of vehicle technology and automotive engineering will be an advantage
