This position is for Dato\' Kho Hui Meng Career Centre (DKHMCC).
Understand the business objectives and insight needs in order to devise and evaluate methods for collecting data, such as surveys, focus groups, questionnaires, and straw/opinion polls.
Proposing data collection methodology for each project undertaken and seek concurrence with management and stakeholders (SMU Schools and SMU Departments) on the methodology to be deployed;
Design, implement and analyse custom research studies for stakeholders (SMU Schools and SMU Departments).
Designing and refining the questionnaire instrument(s) and value-add on ways the data items are be collected;
Anticipating and undertaking the necessary logistics/admin duties required of SMU and her stakeholders, for the survey projects;
Evaluating, negotiating and appointing of market research organisations with the relevant expertise for outsourced survey projects;
Liaising with the appointed market research organisation to ensure the successful launch, key milestone-attainments and completion of outsourced surveys including achieving the required response rate;
Interpret the data collected, organizing this information into statistical tables and reports, and in cases external researchers were engaged, to validate the accuracy of data collected by vendors;
Accurately present findings and actionable insights to SMU senior management and/or internal stakeholders through charts, graphs, and other visual means to facilitate better-informed decisions about core curriculum and other academic strategies; preparing survey report(s) involving drafting and providing value-adding of analysis if required.
Where directed, act as the voice of SMU representing her as a member of a working committee for joint IHL or joint AU projects such as the Graduate Employment Survey, the MOE Tracer Survey, etc. This also including undertaking secretariat duties should SMU be the designated, chairing university.
Where directed, create visuals of industry trends and of education competitors so that SMU may anticipate and predict how her educational services will fare in the marketplace. Provide value-added inputs on survey issues and statistical data in response to requests from SMU management and survey user departments.
Qualifications:
Degree with at least 5 to 7 years\' work experience, with at least 3 years of direct experience in surveys execution, client relationship and vendor management).
Postgraduate qualifications will be an advantage.
Prior Experience conducting surveys and data management in a tertiary institution setting.
Adaptable to multi-faceted requirements of different survey groups and multi-task over several projects.
Very strong Customer Service orientation, able to assume responsibility and take initiative
Confident, well organized, meticulous and good with deadlines.
Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Access).
Practical knowledge of statistical software/tools such as SPSS is a prerequisite.
