[What the role is]
The Centre for Climate Research Singapore (CCRS) is a division of the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS). At CCRS, our mission is to advance scientific understanding of tropical climate variability and change and its associated weather systems affecting Singapore and the wider Southeast Asia region, so that the knowledge and expertise can benefit decision makers and the community. Our vision is to be a world leading centre in tropical climate and weather research focussing on the Southeast Asia region.

To help grow a strong climate science ecosystem in Singapore that supports national needs and agenda, the Climate Science Research Programme Office (CSRPO) was set up under CCRS in November 2020 to lead and drive efforts to strengthen local research climate science capabilities in Singapore through NRF-funded research grants. In consultation with the Singapore Government Resilience Working Group, the CSRPO has commenced with an initial $7M Research, Innovation & Enterprise (RIE) 2020 National Sea Level Programme. In July 2022, Min(MSE) announced the launch of a second $23.5M Climate Impact Science Research (CISR) programme to support research projects looking further into sea level rise, the impacts of climate change on water resources and flood management, biodiversity and food security; human health and energy; and translation of climate science to policy.

[What you will be working on]

Successful administrative management of CCRS/CSRPO-based research -programmes.

Completion of -research programme project and finance management- deliverables, including project plans and schedules, funding initiative reports, progress reports, audit reports and all budgeting and finance reports for relevant projects.

Perform horizon scans on the latest climate science and climate impact science research areas and conduct regular engagement of national stakeholders to communicate research requirements; facilitate the translation of scientific research; and inform policymaking decisions.

Assist in the formulation of RIE2030 strategy and strategic initiatives to address knowledge gaps in the research landscape.

Facilitate collaborative partnerships across various research constituencies, including project heads, research directors, study teams, investigators and external collaborators.

[What we are looking for]

The job might be for you if you possess the following:

Relevant academic degree in Business Administration, or Science. Preferably with a science background or a science major.

Minimum two years of experience, as well as demonstrated proficiency in grants management, including budgeting, planning, execution, delivery, quality assurance, and reporting.

Passion for scientific and technical content with good writing skills and a strong ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders from diverse science areas

Good team player and ability to work with various stakeholders including subject matter experts, senior management and other stakeholder public agencies

Able to work independently and to tight timelines as/when required
