What the role is:

You leverage data science methods and techniques to enhance MINDEF/SAF\'s strategic communications.

What you will be working on:

On this, you apply data science techniques to study MINDEF/SAF\'s audiences and defence-related issues to derive data-driven insights and recommendations. You also translate data into visual insights and solutions to guide MINDEF/SAF\'s strategic communications strategy, policy and planning across public and internal communications, and community engagement. Additionally, you develop and maintain the data architecture and storage systems to support analysis and decision-making. Your challenges lie in explaining complex data and technical findings to strategic communications practitioners and decision makers, and understanding MINDEF/SAF\'s organisational considerations and the intricacies of the information environment that MINDEF/SAF operates in.

What we are looking for:

You must have a tertiary qualification in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Psychometrics, Operational Research or any related filed, preferably with 5 to 7 years\' relevant work experience in a data science, analytics or communications role. You should have the necessary technical knowledge, and be familiar with analysis methods, data management, programming languages (e.g. SAS, SQL, R, python) and visualisation software (e.g. Qlik, Tableu, D3.js). Possession of strong analytical, problem-solving, presentation and communication skills is required. Appointment will be commensurate with your experience. (Candidates with no experience may apply.)
