What the role is:You will be part of the Database Management Unit in the Legislation Division at the Attorney-General\'s Chambers. The role mainly involves the managing and maintenance of the legislation databases Singapore Statutes Online (SSO) and LegiS@Gov (LG) to ensure that legislation published on SSO and LG is accurate and error-free, to adapt the databases to evolving requirements; and responding to public feedback about the availability and functionalities of SSO.What you will be working on:Your main job responsibilities include: \xe2\x80\xa2 Carrying out end-to-end data verification of published legislation (Bills, Acts and subsidiary legislation) in accordance with the established standard operating procedures and the expected quality standards to ensure that the legislation published on LG and SSO is accurate and error-free. This requires - a) Developing a good understanding of legislation and legislative processes, and includes research, tracing and correcting data in the databases and verifying the versions of legislation; b) Fixing data using the Legislation Editing and Authentic Publishing (LEAP) system; and c) Working closely with IT Department and external vendors on system bugs and implementation of fixes and enhancements releases. \xe2\x80\xa2 Responding to Members of Public feedback regarding the availability and functionalities of SSO. \xe2\x80\xa2 Preparing and maintaining internal documentation, such as user guides, standard operating procedures and other quality records relating to the maintenance of data in the legislation databases. \xe2\x80\xa2 Planning and managing work distribution in the Database Management Unit, including working out resource allocation, timelines and budget (if any). \xe2\x80\xa2 Developing and continuously improving work processes for the Database Management Unit to optimise efficiency and ensure relevance. \xe2\x80\xa2 Supporting the unit head in requirements gathering and User Acceptance Testing for IT systems of any new enhancements prior to implementation. \xe2\x80\xa2 Participating in project or committee work and perform other ad hoc tasks or administrative duties assigned.What we are looking for:Requirements: 1. Preferably at least 2 years of relevant working experience, such as experience in database management. Candidates with no relevant experience are welcomed to apply. 2. Good command of the English language. 3. Good technical aptitude for computer applications (Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, web-based applications); knowledge in XML and HTML will be an advantage. 4. Interests in advanced and emerging technologies will be an advantage. 5. Strong analytical mind with attention to detail for identifying and resolving database issues. 6. Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills. 7. High level of initiative, self-motivated with an inquisitive mind, good organisational, project management and problem-solving skills. 8. A team player who is able to work independently as well as in a team. 9. Ability to learn and apply, multi-task, plan and organise work effectively ensuring deadlines are adhered to is key and critical.
