We are building and expanding the best digital bank in ASEAN.

Traditional retail banking is changing rapidly, and will change even more in the next 10 years. We fundamentally rethink the retail banking strategy, business model and proposition, to stay relevant and keep up with the challenges that lie ahead in this rapidly evolving landscape.

TMRW (pronounced as \xe2\x80\x9ctomorrow\xe2\x80\x9d) empowers the digital generation with a full suite of banking solutions through a smart, mobile-only app. Our mission is to build and expand the best digital bank in ASEAN. Launched in Indonesia and Thailand as the first mobile only digital bank by United Overseas Bank (UOB) in ASEAN, TMRW offers innovative and simple solutions to help customers stay one step ahead of their finances. Our business model is powered by next-generation artificial intelligence, machine learning, data analytics, user interface design and smartphone capabilities. These include our own digital technology innovations as well as solutions provided through our collaboration with FinTech partners. Job Responsibilities

Design Thinking and Research:

At UOB TMRW, we embrace design thinking as a fundamental approach to solving complex problems and delivering exceptional user experiences. Our design team utilises research methodologies to gain insights into our customers\' behaviours, needs, and motivations. By applying user-cantered design principles, we ensure that our products and services align with our customer\'s expectations and enhance their banking journey.

Get to Know the Role:

As a Discovery Designer, you will conduct research activities that drive the design process and inform strategic decision-making. Your work will involve:

  • Planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research studies to gain deep insights into customer behaviours, needs and motivations
  • Employing Discovery methodology to uncover pain points and areas of improvement
  • Discovering opportunities for solution and innovation by exploring new and ambiguous problem spaces
  • Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams (product owners, developers, content designers, product designers) to create innovative design solutions
  • Analysing and synthesising research data to identify patterns, trends and key findings and effectively communicating them through visualisations and reports.
  • Working closely within the design team to ensure customer insights are integrated into the design process and championing an \xe2\x80\x9cOutside-in\xe2\x80\x9d approach throughout the organisation.
  • Staying updated with industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices in user-centred design and research methodologies.
You will play a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience across our digital platforms and products by leveraging your research insights.

Job Requirements

A team member who has:
  • Proven experience (4 - 5 years) working as a UX researcher/designer or similar roles, specialising in discovery methodology, preferably in face-paced, product-driven environment.
  • Strong expertise in conducting various user research methods, including qualitative and quantitative research techniques.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to clearly present and articulate research insights to diverse stakeholders.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex research findings into actionable design recommendations and insights.
  • Experience working in cross-collaborative teams across multiple functions.
Nice to have:
  • Experience in the banking of fintech industry
  • Experience working across multiple markets and regions
  • Experience mentoring and guiding juniors
  • Familiarity with design thinking, agile methodologies and iterative design processes
  • Master\'s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Psychology or a related field.
