This role has a global domain and is responsible for providing the technical
support / expertise for all of APLL's IT platforms, systems and applications such
as LSS+, WMS as well as enterprise, regional / local apps. This role works
closely with the teams internally in the implementation of new technology /
projects, and externally with vendors for project execution and management of
services support, whilst having to balance between regular business operations
activities, resource and skills constraints.
Responsibilities:
Technical Support and Services
- Manage, maintain and improve all APLL's IT platforms, systems and
applications globally i.e. ACSR (more than 10 interfaces), LSS+,WMS, 25-30
enterprise applications, 10-12 regional / local applications.
- Provides technical expertise to support the IT enterprise in areas such as
network hosting, infrastructure applications, cloud and cybersecurity.
- Ensure security management i.e. awareness, threat detection and protection
and resilience improvements.
- Perform integration review/design and enhancement on all infrastructure
related services.
- Responsible for the IT Service Management in term of service level agreement
(SLA), performance, incident management, change management etc.
- Ensure on budget / on time / on requirements delivery of the Planning Tool, IFS
platform, modernisation projects (SDWAN / Datacenter /Cloud Ops) and
automation projects (CFS / CLS / TMS / FIN / HR).
- Ensure IT spend at or below budget i.e. +/-2% variance on overall budget; 1%
of efficiency savings delivered.
- Ensure all IT operational activities are conducted with adherence to SLAs with
no significant business disruptions.
Support Business Operations
- Work closely with the procurement team to support all procurement activities
which includes responding to RFQs and negotiation, bringing onboard key IT
specialist advice / expertise / insights.
- Work closely with teams internally on the implementation of new technology /
projects, whilst having to balance between regular business operations activities,
resource and skills constraints, based on key business issues / projects that are
aligned to the overall strategic direction of APLL. 2 key internal clients are the
Field IT and Applications teams.
- Manage requirements and performance of external vendors such as Microsoft,
Oracle , Informatica, Actuate, webfocus, IBM, DXC, CTC, Infosys etc.
Organizational Capability Building and New Technology Roll-Out
- Evaluate the capabilities of staff within the IT team to identify gaps and
prioritize development / improvement activities.
- Identify and build the skills / capabilities needed to meet the current and
emerging business needs in line with changing business environment.
- Remain up-to-date with new technology trends in the industry, and enable team
members with these new technical requirements through teaching / training.
- Identify and enable team with critical behavioural soft skills such as
communication, negotiation and customer orientation to support procurement
activities.
- Oversee adoption of agile product management and DevOps framework across
I T.
- Refresh and enhance technology areas including database and Middleware
Cloud.
Support Growth and Innovation
- Work towards end to end visibility across platforms with DataGuaranteed
designed and delivered.
- Streamline services, sales and operations by delivering on digital capabilities
(RPA / Analytics / CX).
- Ensure successful onboarding of new business and maximum support for
existing business. Support 5% CAGR.
Performance and Team Management
- Lead capability building for the team to ensure the team has the right skills to
deliver against current and emerging requirements (e.g, speed and quality of
resolutions)
- Provide opportunities for development to staff within own team
Qualifications:
Knowledge on all infra related domains like Database, Middleware, Dev Ops,
Cloud, EDI, API etc.
More than 12 years in a management role with experiences in management and
execution of projects, team management and senior stakeholder engagement.
