JOB SUMMARY

Owner Relations (OR) is a strategic function of Marriott\xe2\x80\x99s business in the Asia Pacific continent that represents and manages the interests of all hotel owners and franchisees. The OR team coordinates with and supports multiple stakeholders in the planning and execution of initiatives developed for the purpose of communicating to, recognizing and building loyalty with our highly-valued business partners.

We are looking for a Manager to support the OR team in a number of key projects focused on strengthening overall owner and franchisee satisfaction, such as owner communication, owner engagement and account management. The Manager, Owner Relations, will be responsible for developing internal and external communications to tell the story of the company\xe2\x80\x99s business model and programs and services to Marriott\xe2\x80\x99s owner and franchisee community. The role will work closely with all functions throughout the organization to understand the business, identify communication challenges and opportunities, formulate key messages, and create purposeful and persuasive communication. The Manager will also support the Senior Director, Owner Relations and Government Affairs, Asia Pacific excluding China, with key projects and initiatives focused on improving overall owner and franchisee satisfaction, such as surveys, events and in-person business meetings/conferences.

The ideal candidate will be a superb communicator with strong interpersonal skills, be extremely motivated and be able to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.

The position is based in Singapore and reports to the Senior Director, Owner Relations and Government Affairs, Asia Pacific excluding China.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

  • Work closely with internal teams to understand the business, identify communication challenges and opportunities, recommend type and content of messaging to ownership groups, and produce communication material such as presentations, talking points, memos, letters, FAQs, scripts/speaker notes and ad-hoc requests as needed
  • Author organic content and edit existing communication, training and reference materials to explain significant business issues and initiatives to both internal and external stakeholders in a clear and effective manner
  • Design and produce clear, visually compelling presentations/PowerPoint decks for both internal and external forums
  • Coordinate between various levels and departments of the organization, across geographies, to address questions from and provide support to hotel owners and franchisees
  • Represent the needs of and provide perspectives of owners in internal discussions relating to major business decisions
  • Prepare, coordinate and draft suitable content for newsletters and letters to owners
  • Monitor news on ownership groups, briefing senior leadership of major developments
  • Support the planning and execution of programs including meetings/conferences, surveys, database and account management
  • Monthly social media management/executive profiling support for senior leadership as needed
CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience
  • Minimum three years of work experience in journalism, consulting/advisory, or strategic, financial or corporate communications
  • Experience both indepdently authoring content as well as editing material prepared by others
  • Experience working across geographies and cultures in Asia Pacific preferred
  • Past experience in hotel, real estate and/or franchise industry is a plus
Skills and Competencies
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills in English, including the ability to author compelling communication materials
  • Display strong attention-to-detail \xe2\x80\x93 especially in editing, proofreading and fact-checking, high degree of initiative and resourcefulness, as well as a service-oriented attitude
  • Profiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word programs
  • Strategic thinking, sound judgment, and strong business acumen
  • Superior problem-solving and organizational skills; able to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Ability to communicate and work with people at all levels
  • Manage and have ownership of projects from start to end independently
