The Role Responsibilities
  • Support the Payment Operations function in the department
  • Implementation of, and adherence to Group policies, procedures, service standards and performance measurements.
  • Drive cost reduction, channel management and straight-through processing initiatives
  • Ensure compliance with the Group's Policy and standards and in-country regulatory requirements and laws pertaining to AML and CFT.
  • Facilitate and support the Bank's efforts in combating money-laundering and terrorism financing activities.
  • Deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the Global Business Services (GBS).
  • To initiate and implement service quality and process improvement projects
  • To ensure adherence of all controls and procedures as detailed in the DOI.
  • To maintain a positive working relationship with personnel of the other sections/divisions of the bank.
  • Ensure all maintenance and delivery of initiatives and other reporting.
  • To participate and contribute in Cash related projects as assigned. Ensure all the system functionalities are reviewed. UAT, UVT are performed as accordingly before sign off is provided
  • Recommend and advise on benefits of system changes, automation and centralization of processes
  • Manage technological changes in processing systems and ensure that the changes will benefit and not disrupt or affect business.

Strategy
  • Implementation of, and adherence to Group policies, procedures, service standards and performance measurements
  • Drive the same strategic agenda and priorities with Group Cash
  • Establish direction and overall resources structure plans; establish and ensure commitment to, and compliance with, productivity goals in a strategic cost management environment.

Business
  • To manage payments processing and its related functions undertaken on behalf of the bank and/or customers are expeditiously and accurately executed so as to maintain a high standard of customer service as well as to avoid any monetary loss.
  • All processes to be in line with Cash Management Policy/ Procedures
  • To ensure that the quality and delivery of all processes performed by GBS meet the minimum standards and requirement.
  • Ensure that DOI to be updated/ current and fully complied with.
  • Ensure the reconciliation of payments and Charges related transactions are performed timely.
Processes
  • Standardize processes and procedures to ensure success transfer of best practices, and adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Identify and deploy enabling technologies and tools to achieve efficiencies

  • All processes to be in line with Cash Management Policy/ Procedures

People & Talent
  • Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Risk Management
  • Manage operational risks and controls to ensure compliance against internal and regulatory policies and guidelines
  • Identify key issues and put in place appropriate controls and measures
  • To adhere strictly to MAS regulation 626 (Prevention of Money Laundering and Countering the Financing of Terrorism)
  • All controls implemented to mitigate the risk of MAS626 breach has to be adhered strictly and be completed timely.
  • Ensure regulatory reporting is submitted punctually
  • Roles & Responsibilities between Country and external departments are being defined clearly and reviewed on a regular basis
Governance
  • Deliver effective governance, oversight and controls in the Global Business Services (GBS)
  • Periodic Risk Review of external stakeholders – GBS is performed annually
  • Ensure all outsourcing related documents are in place and reviewed on periodic basis – i.e. TPCP, BIA, BCP etc.
  • Monthly SRM Dashboard is submitted timely to Country Outsourcing Governance team
  • All outsourcing is being performed as accordance to Bank’s policy and relevant approvals are obtained before activities are outsourced
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Co-Lead the team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank’s Conduct Principles : Fair Outcomes for Clients; Effective Financial Markets; Financial Crime Compliance; The Right Environment.
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Key stakeholders
  • Interact with sales and product management partners to ensure full engagement and value added participation of operations in meeting overall business goals and objectives.
  • Interact and coordinate with other key relationship partners in the bank to ensure effective overall service delivery to the customers.
  • Address and resolve the issues raised by the customers/business
  • Build close rapport between country operations and Global Business Services (GBS)
  • Collaborate with other colleagues in other regions
Other Responsibilities

Our Ideal Candidate
  • 5+ years of experience in cash operations including payments
  • Sound knowledge of SWIFT, local and international payment, clearing and collection methods and settlement arrangements.
  • Strong operational risk management skills
  • Good managerial and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in team management will be an advantage
  • Someone who can work well in a team environment and can actively contribute to their team's success
  • Ability to translate knowledge to support business initiatives.
