Manager Quantity Surveyor

, you will provide assistance to the Senior Commercial Manager as required. You will support your Lead / Department Head.


What makes the role successful:




You will be responsible for planning, preparing, and support to the team pitching the project cost to clients on behalf of SM inline with business plan of SM Prepare and manage project cost estimates, budgets, and cash flow projections. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, specifications, and drawings. Monitor project progress and track costs against budget, identifying and reporting any variances or potential issues. Control and mitigate risks related to cost overruns w.r.t estimates or savings plan Prepare and submit monthly progress reports to senior management and project stakeholders. Prepare claims for variations or additional works, and negotiate settlement with clients and contractors. Participate in project meetings, providing cost and contractual advice to project managers and other stakeholders.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date project cost records, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Prepare and present final accounts and claims, ensuring timely and accurate settlement. Participate in project meetings, providing cost and contractual advice to project managers and other stakeholders. You will maintain all the documents for total compliance related to design, contractors, legal and other matters as per company standards. Maintain accurate and up-to-date project cost records, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Assist with the preparation of the documentation and the cover letters. Perform electronic registration, filing and distribution of documents.

What We're Looking For:




You are a QS professional with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience managing corporate/ workplace interior fit-out projects. +

Cost Estimation Skills:

You have experience in creating accurate cost estimates for construction projects, using appropriate methods and tools, and taking into account factors such as labor, materials, equipment, overhead costs, and contingencies.

Technical Knowledge:

You possess a solid understanding of construction techniques, materials, and systems to accurately evaluate project costs and assess potential risks.

Analytical Skills:

You are able to analyze data, evaluate options, and make informed decisions on cost-effective solutions for construction projects.

Communication Skills:

You are able to effectively communicate cost-related information to various stakeholders, such as project managers, clients, and suppliers.

Teamwork and Collaboration:

You have experience working collaboratively with a team, including architects, engineers, and contractors to develop accurate cost estimates and proposals.

Time Management:

You are able to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge of Regulations and Standards:

You are knowledgeable about relevant regulations and standards, such as building codes and safety requirements.

Computer Skills:

You have experience with relevant software applications, such as cost estimating software, spreadsheets, and project management tools. And you have experience in successfully adopting digital and technology initiatives.

Attention to Detail:

You have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all costs are accounted for and accurately reflected in project estimates.

Cost Control:

You are able to identify potential cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to control project costs while maintaining quality standards.

You have a diploma or degree in quantity surveying/ construction management or a related discipline. You have the knowledge of individual trades and subcontractors relevant to interior fit-outs You are tech-savvy, and have experience in successfully adopting digital and technology initiatives. You have the ability to work in a fast paced environment without compromising on quality and customer satisfaction.You work well under pressure and have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
