Manager, Business Development
You will become a member of the Singapore Business Development team and will support the Head of Business Development in efficient execution of the business sales strategy, to grow the portfolio profitably and achieve significant market share in Singapore.
Develop and implement sales strategies for targeted key accounts in Singapore. Very knowledgeable of complete line of products/services and clients' issues and needs. Primarily focused on seeking out new clients.
In practice, this is both challenging and exciting, requiring you to develop a detailed understanding of every aspect of the international medical insurance business. This will require you to be involved with all our departments making this a demanding yet ultimately very rewarding role.
You will be a university graduate. More importantly, you will have high levels of sales experience, backed up by excellent, interpersonal and influential skills and be fluent in English and Mandarin.

Main duties/Responsibilities
Responsible for meeting assigned sales goals;
Research and develop new business opportunities within assigned geographic areas/industry categories/market segments;
Generate and follow up new business leads to meet sales and profitability targets in line with overall strategy;
Prepare focused, client-specific presentations for new business emphasizing the USP of the Cigna product v the competition;
Develop proactive strategy, with regular reviews, maximizing specific opportunities as they arise;
Build and maintain harmonious business relationship with benefits intermediaries to penetrate on both multinational and SME client segments;
Prioritize and approach prospects directly for business opportunities by acting as an adviser to client on all aspects of their international medical insurance requirements.
Coordinate case implementations to ensure seamless inception processes.
Participate in specific projects, e.g. review of service standards, development of product and pricing strategy as well as product literature.
Lead the research and development of new business opportunities and products in local area.
Report to Head of Business Development on sales business achieved etc., in line with agreed format.
Accurate data base management of prospects/potential customer and opportunities by means of CRM software (SFDC)
Liaise with internal departments, e.g. underwriting, claims teams, marketing, in line with established procedures to ensure optimum service to client.
Liaise with other Cigna worldwide offices to develop opportunities; to drive cross sell activities.
Scope and Dimensions
Reports directly to the Head of Business Development
Responsible for own portfolio of business.
Experience Required
Minimum 5 years experience in international healthcare provision at senior or sales-related level with a focus not only on growth but also on profitability.
Ability to work independently to achieve ambitious new business targets.
Technical/Functional expertise: Project Management, Analytical, Financial skills and Product Knowledge.
Ability to drive results through thinking strategically and executing a strategy across multiple geographic regions.
Ability to foster collaboration, value others perspectives and gain support and buy-in for organizational proposals.
Ability to work effectively with multi-discipline, multi-cultural team.
Education/professional qualifications required
Bachelors Degree required; MBA or Masters Degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
Minimum of 5 years relevant industry and/or product experience
Fluency in English is essential.
Qualification in business administration/sales skills.
5+ years experience working within cross-functional projects preferred.
