The Tourism Human Capital and Sustainability Division is looking for a suitable candidate to:
Undertake Strategic Planning of the Tourism Workforce through sectoral and industry specific workforce capacity planning, monitoring and projections to ensure the adequacy of workforce to support the Tourism Sector;
Keep abreast of Human Capital trends and macroeconomic developments and analyse their potential impact on the Tourism Sector and STB so that appropriate interventions can be activated on a timely basis, where required;
Play a horizontal integrator role by ensuring that customised Human Capital interventions developed for the respective industries, continue to meet the objectives of a Tourism Workforce that is armed with future-ready skills and firms equipped with progressive workplace practices; and
Equip STB staff with the relevant tools so as to develop the necessary knowledge and skillsets to manage the human capital challenges faced by their industry.
This is a 3-year contract position.
Main responsibilities: Undertake Strategic Planning of Tourism Workforce through sectoral and industry workforce planning, monitoring and projections. Key responsibilities include:
Regularly collate, analyse and update Management on key tourism manpower statistics, both at sectoral and industry-level
Develop and regularly review methodologies for the projections of tourism manpower-related statistics, including study of inflow of tourism-trained students into the tourism workforce
Analyse impact and propose necessary interventions, arising from the projections of tourism manpower-related statistics
Dashboard the relevant data to facilitate data access and discovery of insights for data-driven conversations and decision-making
Keep abreast of Human Capital trends and macroeconomic developments and analyse their potential impact on the tourism sector and STB. Key responsibilities include:
Regular scanning of relevant publications and resources and to synthesise relevant content for re-sharing with STB staff and/or industry
Initiate and oversee potential collaborations with partners such as consultancies/research institutions
Design and implement pilot micro human capital programmes to address identified manpower challenges
Play a horizontal integrator role by ensuring that customised Human Capital interventions developed for the respective industries meet the objectives of ensuring that the Tourism Workforce is armed with future-ready skills and firms equipped with progressive workplace practices. Key responsibilities include:
Periodic review of the effectiveness of the Human Capital interventions through monitoring the performance of tracking indicators
Periodic refresh of the Human Capital interventions, bearing in mind latest human capital trends and macroeconomic developments and also seeking feedback from industry stakeholders
Periodic reporting to Management of major updates to and key learnings from, the implementation of the Human Capital interventions.
Equip STB staff with the relevant tools to develop the necessary knowledge and skillsets to manage the Human Capital challenges faced by their industry. Key responsibilities include:
Effective communication of pertinent Human Capital developments affecting their stakeholders to them via curated info kits, briefing sessions et
Recommend suitable training courses that they could attend to raise their competencies in Human Capital development matters.

Job requirements:
At least 5 years of relevant work experience
Have an interest in macroeconomic trends and developments
Strong analytical skills and able to synthesise data / feedback / sentiments into insights / reporting
Experience in the use of Qliksense and Tableau will be an advantage but not mandatory
Good verbal and written communication skills
