Manager, Train Services








Job Purpose

Assists the Senior Manager (Train Operations) in providing management leadership at the respective crew point and depot to meet the company\xe2\x80\x99s vision, mission and core values and its branch key performance indicators and standards.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and be accountable for all staff under your direct charge within the respective crew point and depot - this includes managing Staff Timetable and Duty Schedule, Discipline related matters
  • Ensure train services are not delay, safety is prioritised while we meet our customer\xe2\x80\x99s needs and expectation
  • Spearhead a committee responsible for up-keeping of the crew point and depot
  • Put in place incident management plan for incidents during peak and non-peak hours
  • Involved in audit and budgeting exercises, and improve productivity and efficiency level
  • Attend division, department and branch meeting
  • Conduct regular meetings and dialogues with supervisors on staff and operational matters
  • Submit monthly report based on the key performance indicators and standards, highlighting all exception and required corrective action
  • Develop training plans based on the learning and development guidelines, ensuring staff remain competent in their job and able to rectify train faults
  • Develop incentive scheme to motivate and reward our staff
  • Responsible for all administrative matters including certification of all petty cash claims, leave approval, Staff Time Records (DSTR) approval etc.
  • Perform any other duties as and when assigned by the management



Qualifications & Work Experience
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline
  • Min. 5 years of relevant experience in Train Operations and managing a workforce of 350 staff in a unionized environment.
  • Experience in dealing with Government agencies and regulatory bodies
  • Experience in incident management and able to minimize the impact to train service

  • Able to drive changes in an environment with people from diverse background, language and races.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams and in fostering teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
