Job Description


About the position:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, QHSE & Sustainability. The Assistant Manager is expected to assist in overseeing all Quality, Health, Safety and Environment functions and work closely with the relevant stakeholders to ensure that statutory compliance, KPIs, organizational standards, business/operational needs and policies set are met.

  • Responsible for all quality, health, safety and environment matters.
  • Develop, maintain, review and improve the Quality Management Systems prioritizing safety and operating standards.
  • Manage and maintain records of all accidents/incidents reporting with the circumstances and events occurring. Assist with subsequent investigation process when required.
  • Support the training and development of all staff to ensure awareness and understanding of Safety and Quality Standards and the relevance to business objectives.
  • Assist in conducting Safety Committee Management meeting on a regular basis.
  • Ensure that the fire safety requirements stated in the emergency plan are compliant to legal requirements.
  • Implement the Crisis Management and Business Continuity/Contingency Plans. Conduct annual tabletop exercises for relevant personnel.
  • Keep record and inspect company\'s operators, PPE, MHEs, tools etc., to ensure the respective safety certificates and users\' licenses are not expired prior to workforce usage.
  • Responsible for management of and liaison with external auditors to acquire/maintain Company\'s accreditations.
  • Assist in conducting internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of systems and procedures, identify and assist in implementing improvements.
  • Bachelor\'s degree from recognized university in engineering/science fields related to Workplace Health and Safety or with relevant professional qualifications.
  • A least 5 years of relevant experience in workplace health and safety in logistics.
  • Ability to analyse complex problems, interpret operational needs, and develop integrated, creative solutions.
  • Knowledge of current developments and trends in WSH best practices, project management, and related technology.
  • Ability to effectively manage a large, diverse team of technical managerial/supervisory, professional, and support staff.
  • Sound knowledge and proven implementation of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 is highly preferred.
  • Good MS Office skills particularly in Excel, Words and PowerPoint.
  • Meticulous, excellent communication skills, and able to work both independently and in a team.
  • A \xe2\x80\x9chands-on\xe2\x80\x9d implementer of processes and change for continual and continuous improvement.
The following attributes would be desirable, but not essential.
  • Able to support and mentor team members and to coach/advise as required.
  • A knowledge of warehouse logistics working practices and principles.
