What the role is:The Built Environment (BE) sector has been integral to the design and construction of Singapore\'s city-scape and infrastructure, which has brought about the vibrant and liveable city it is today. However, the sector will need to confront the existential challenges of ageing infrastructure in the coming years, changing demographics and values, energy and manpower constraints and global climate change. This is critical as we work towards a safe, high quality, smart, sustainable and inclusive living environment for Singaporeans.What you will be working on:You will be part of the MND Infrastructure policy team that is responsible for driving policies and introducing legislation to enable the transformation of the BE sector to meet these challenges. This would include working on initiatives to: (i) Spearhead regulatory innovation and industry development to ensure that buildings in Singapore are designed, constructed and maintained to high standards of safety; (ii) Uplift safety and performance standards of BE firms and projects through enhanced professional standards and regulations; and (iii) Leverage technology to be future ready in ensuring the safety and resilience of our building infrastructure. Through your work, you will have the opportunity to translate strategic intent and objectives to policy moves and programmes, work closely with the Building and Construction Authority to engage the BE sector stakeholders, as well as enact legislation and regulatory changes.What we are looking for:
