What the role is:The Smart Nation group, part of the Prime Minister\'s Office and administered by the Ministry of Digital Development and Information (MDDI), plays a multifaceted role in guiding Singapore\'s digital transformation and leading the development of Smart Nation strategies. In addition to driving the digitalisation of government services, the group oversees the development and application of digital technologies and capabilities across Singapore. It also promotes digital inclusivity, while regulating data and online activities and strengthening digital security. Through its comprehensive approach, the group strives to create a digitally empowered and inclusive society, positioning Singapore as a global leader in the digital era.What you will be working on:The National AI Group (NAIG) within the Smart Nation group is responsible for driving the implementation of our refreshed National AI Strategy (NAIS 2.0), in partnership with government, industry, and research stakeholders. You will be part of the Policy and Strategy team within NAIG: KEY RESULT AREAS: \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure alignment and coherence of various AI initiatives across the government to NAIS 2.0\'s desired outcomes. \xe2\x80\xa2 Monitor and assess the implications of geostrategic, economic, technological, and industry developments in AI on NAIS 2.0. \xe2\x80\xa2 Develop possible strategic responses for Singapore to these abovementioned trends and developments in AI. \xe2\x80\xa2 Contribute to overall strategic policymaking at MCI, given the cross-cutting nature of AI. \xe2\x80\xa2 Work across government agencies and other entities to acquire and allocate necessary resources (e.g. finance, manpower, collaborations) to support the NAIS 2.0 agenda. \xe2\x80\xa2 [For supervisors: Build up an effective team to deliver these outcomes and be a strong advocate for the team\'s contributions at the local, national and international levels.] You might be interested in this job if: \xe2\x80\xa2 You desire a unique opportunity to be in the driver\'s seat, to shape the development and adoption of AI in Singapore. \xe2\x80\xa2 You appreciate the full range of AI\'s effects and want to ensure that AI works in service of the public good. \xe2\x80\xa2 You have sound policy instincts, that you love to apply on challenges that are unbounded and evolving. \xe2\x80\xa2 You are a quick learner and demonstrate curiosity, tenacity, and drive. \xe2\x80\xa2 You consider success to be where you push the boundaries of possibility and where you achieve this together with others.What we are looking for:REQUIREMENTS: \xe2\x80\xa2 Advanced degree in public policy, law, computer science, engineering, humanities, mathematics, or a related field. \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong understanding of AI technologies, their economic impact, societal implications, and interest in the global regulatory landscape. \xe2\x80\xa2 Analytical mindset and attention to detail for policy research and development. \xe2\x80\xa2 Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills. \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams and external stakeholders.
