Overview

Commodities, Food and Agriculture (CF&A) is a Sector Coverage team responsible for the corporates involved in the trading of physical commodities (energy, metals & minerals, and food & agriculture), as well as the producers and processors of metals & minerals, food and agricultural products.

The Regional Head of CF&A is responsible for the commercial performance of the regional sector cluster, drives sector cluster P&L targets and steers on risk/return. He or she reports functionally to the Global Head of CF&A and hierarchically to the Regional Head of Sectors APAC, and will be part of their respective Management Teams (MT). To target the commercial efforts, the Regional Head of CF&A closely collaborates with (i) the CCO and other regional Sector Coverage heads, to coordinate and execute sales force effectiveness programs, and (ii) the Risk stakeholders to establish the financial and non-financial risk appetite, and to manage therein. The regional head drives differentiation of the CF&A proposition versus competitors by establishing and managing sector strategy plans across the countries.

The Team

The CF&A organization consists of 3 sub-sectors: Food & Agri, Metals, Mining & Fertilizers, Trade & Commodity Finance. The sector consists of 55 FTE across Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore and Sydney; and you will have 5 direct reports in your MT. As Regional Head of CF&A, you are part of the APAC Sectors MT.

Key responsibilities

Defining/developing regional sector strategy for ING\xe2\x80\x99s wholesale banking (WB) business for the CF&A sector in line with global sector strategy, including selection of target sub-sectors, geographies, clients and products.

Responsible for the sector dynamic plan (annual budget) within the region and deliver sector P&L, balance sheet and other sector KPIs.

Coordinate and foster collaboration with WB product and country teams to ensure effective coverage of sector clients and delivery of lending and non-lending products/services to clients.

Overseeing the identification, onboarding and maintenance of sector client relationships, working in conjunction with ING product and country coverage teams.

Business development for ING\xe2\x80\x99s lending and non-lending products to existing and target sector clients, seeking to maximize the opportunities for bank-wide revenue generation through cross-sell.

Providing strategic direction and leadership to an experienced team of sector bankers, including ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

Ongoing coaching and mentoring to the team, ensuring proactive performance and personal development to instill a high-performance culture and achieve target results.

Managing the transaction origination & execution of sector lending transactions, taking a lead role when required. Managing the sector loan portfolio and ensure a strong credit culture within the team.

Ensure compliance with applicable internal policies and requirements covering credit, operational and regulatory risk. Maintain portfolio reporting accuracy and data quality.

Identify and monitor developments and opportunities within the sector, updating strategy when necessary to maintain a competitive and focused business. Continue to maintain current knowledge of the sector, competitors, products and macroeconomic trends/ issues.

Serve on regional green light committee (commercial platform for new transactions) and as front-office risk-mandate holder for the sector.

Your required experience

We are looking for a Regional Head of Commodity Food & Agri who has a strong understanding of the WB market & extensive knowledge of WB products and risk management. You are a people manager that can act as global leader in a complex matrix organisation.

Next to that you recognize yourself in the following profile:

Around 15 years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience in the financial industry

International experience is preferred

Proven track record of steering an end-to-end organization

Strong commercial acumen and ability to execute

Highly experienced in complex stakeholder management

Good knowledge/experience or regulatory requirements and risks (financial & non-financial)

The required skills we ask

Ability to translate WB and sector\xe2\x80\x99s vision and strategy into specific direction for the regional sector.

Leadership, track record of managing teams in a complex matrix organization.
