This role includes making credit decisions for credit transactions for the bank\xe2\x80\x99s global customers, primarily based in APAC. Furthermore, this position entails liaising with the global headquarter in Tokyo and key stakeholders in other regions.Job ResponsibilitiesStrategicCollaborate with senior leadership to set goals and plan for the credit functionSteer and execute strategic planning initiatives and enhance the governance within the credit function, manage global and regional related projectsEngage Business stakeholders to shape strategy & business direction so it operates within risk appetiteReview & oversight of ICD credit portfolio, influencing and shaping capital allocation, credit quality and concentrationsFinancialDrive and support efficiency and simplification initiatives to reduce cost to serve and strengthen risk managementEnsure the personnel/cost management comply to the allocated division budget.CustomerCollaborate with other departments and stakeholders to resolve credit-related issuesSupport the development of 1LOD credit management & credit application writing skills and risk cultureWork in partnership with Relationship Managers/Credit Preparer in the originating offices to understand new credit applications and the nature of transactions, and highlight credit concerns, terms and conditions (in original applications) that do not meet the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s required standards.Work in partnership with Head Office to ensure agreement in assessment of credit applications.Work with Research team to obtain information, where necessary, to understand the customer and the market.Work in partnership with Credit Administration and Credit Planning to get clarification of policy related issues and check that covenant checks are in compliance with the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s requirements.Work in partnership with Tokyo Head Office and Regional Stakeholders on resource management for the division.PeopleLead, coach, and mentor team members, ensuring they receive appropriate training and development.Identify Team training needs and support the design and delivery of training within ICD and to the BusinessCoach Team members to develop staff skills, competencies and behaviorsOthers/ControlOversee the credit screening process to ensure clients\' financial stability and minimize risksDevelop and implement comprehensive credit risk policies and proceduresReview and refine the credit application processes to ensure efficiency and effectivenessSupervise planning activities and monitor the progress of various projects and initiativesResolve issues identified by internal audits and external regulatorsJob RequirementsBachelor Degree qualifiedMinimum 15 years of working experience in the financial industry with, 5 years of working experience in risk management and credit assessment, managing credit portfolios and formulating credit policiesProficient knowledge of international affairs, local politics, economics, and societal issuesOutstanding analytical and critical thinking skillsPossess deep insight and high ethical standards as a credit manager in the global fieldStrong business acumen, decisive, with a high tolerance for stressExceptional leadership skills with the ability to manage a diversified team of 30High interpersonal skills, able to effectively communicate with multiple stakeholdersStrong project management skills to lead global projects and execute multiple initiativesCapability to collaborate with and negotiate between our global headquarters and key stakeholdersExtensive experience in dealing with regulatory authorities at both local and global levelsProficient knowledge of commercial customs and legal regulations within APACExperience in business promotion covering global clients in APACStrong strategic planning skillsCommunication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholdersStrong management, coaching, mentoring and leadership skills to lead the team.Sound decision-making skills, with a focus on risk and business operationProficient in both written and spoken Japanese to effectively communicate with Japanese stakeholders and senior management in Tokyo Head OfficeKnowledge in regulatory requirements from JFSA (Japanese Financial Services Agency) would be advantageous.MUFG Bank Ltd & MUFG Securities Asia Limited (collectively referred to as \xe2\x80\x9cMUFG\xe2\x80\x9d) is an equal opportunity employer.
