We are hiring a Manufacturing Technology Development Engineer to work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver Capital Intensive Automation and Equipment projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Manufacturing automation and digitalization concepts, specification & delivery:
Capture and apply the current shop floor knowledge to design a better equipment specification
Work closely with all cross-functional teams and external vendors to conceptualize the automation and digitalization design
To keep abreast of the latest developments in industrial automation technology, evaluate and select the technology which is best suited for WSA needs
Provide Design-for-Automation requirements input to Product Designers to make products automation-friendly during product development phase
Analyze manufacturing process, assess automation/digitalization opportunities and feasibility, and recommend the tools, equipment, processes required to fulfil the needs
Using models, sketches and simple simulation processes to explore ideas, refine options and reduce operational lifecycle cost
Smart Lean program for continuous improvement on shop-floor excellence
Define steps to deliver flawless operation from Day 1
Design Effectiveness
Identify weak components and set improvement targets
Develop equipment design standards
Assess design options
Plan and implement Maintenance Prevention
Perform Defect Prevention/Enhancing project value
Project Governance
Source and manage the automation vendors and ensure timely delivery of the projects
Avoid common pitfalls that are the root causes of late and costly capital projects
Capturing lessons learnt and cross-project learning
Assess current capital project management processes
Drive and implement rigorous quality standards for all aspects of the automation delivery from initial concept to final commissioning and handover
The successful candidate will ideally be equipped with minimum 2 years of automation engineering experience from design to implementation of Automatic Assembly Machines in Medical Device or Electronics Manufacturing / Semiconductor environment. Fresh graduate with exposure to automation and digitalization projects are also welcome. Requirements:
Exposure to design and delivery of Industrial equipment/ systems, with exposure in Robotic Assembly, SMT Manufacturing processes, and Box-Build Assembly processes
Prior working experience of Machine vision, PLC, and PC based programming is preferred
Versed in Design for Automation, FMEA, DOE, Statistical Process Control, OEE, and basic knowledge of Lean Six Sigma will be an advantage
