Join our global team for a career filled with opportunities to solve challenges both small and large, local and global, simple and complex.We are looking for a Marine Surveying Manager to join our company.The Marine Surveying Manager is responsible for operations and sales development, continuously driving service quality and effectiveness. Actively manage resources and processes related to the surveying services provided by WPS within designated ports.In Wilhelmsen Port Services, we provide our customers with piece of mind while we handle their cargo, their vessels and their crew. We handle 75,000 port calls per year, which means that every 7 minutes, anywhere around the world, we send a ship safely out to sea again to fulfil its purpose. We match local expertise with strict global standards, making sure we consistently make our customers\xe2\x80\x99 port calls as efficient and safe as possible.Who you will report to:The Ships Agency Operator will report to Ships Agency Operations Manager.What you will be doing:Performing vessel draft surveys, barge surveys, on/off hire condition surveys, and product inspections for vessels carrying a variety of products, including coal, fertilizer, cement, steel and petroleum-based productsDrive sales and develop business volumes within the designated portsPerforming Marine Cargo inspections on a variety of bulk cargo products via vessel and/or barge draft surveys and physical/visual examination, as deemed necessaryUsing accepted draft surveying techniques to calculate quantities of cargo loaded or discharged from vesselsConducting on/off hire Ship condition surveys, cargo Hold inspection surveys and Bunker surveys for various marine vesselProviding reports to clients in standard format and in accordance with corporate quality programs, policies and proceduresOverseeing cargo sampling and analysis and inspecting cargo holds;Liase with terminal and warehouse personal for execution of inspectionsCommunicate and give direction to the administrative/branch staff regarding inspection detailsProviding expert opinions and guidance to clients on hull, cargo damage, cargo holding cleanliness and overall risk assessment to minimize the client\xe2\x80\x99s financial risks and liabilityWhat you need to be successful in this role:Bachelor\'s degree in maritime or business, or a related fieldExperience in Marine Surveying or InspectionExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamWhat we are looking for:Ability to act on initiative in a proactive mannerGood interpersonal, influencing and networking skills with awareness of global cultural differencesResults and process driven, with a high level of responsibilityCo-operating attitude being a team player that adapts to the team and builds team spirit, listens, consults and communicates proactively and upholds ethics and valuesWhat we offer:Working in Wilhelmsen can offer a culture and work environment of strong leadership, career development, work-life balance and a job that is both challenging and stimulating.
