About the Function

The Global Procurement function at Diageo plays a key role in fueling growth and value, every day everywhere.

Globally, Diageo invests \xc2\xa32.4 billion of A&P into our brands to drive long-term brand building and short-term sales conversion. The global Marketing Procurement ambition is to be the Gateway to the Agency Ecosystem, connecting the Marketing and Commercial teams with the best talent and expertise of the outside world, and ensuring that when the outside comes in, it works. The global Marketing Procurement COE is fundamental to the marketing productivity agenda, driving growth by eliminating inefficient spend and waste from the system, using insights and commercial expertise to deliver value, managing risk and agency performance and championing Diageo\xe2\x80\x99s 2030 goals.

About the Role (8 Months Contract)

This role forms part of the APAC Marketing COE and is responsible for supporting the APAC A&P Category Strategies and deliverables across the markets- SEA, AUS, North Asia, and GC. A&P is a critical investment in fueling commercial growth in the region, driving both operating margin improvement and competitive advantage for Diageo. This is an individual contributor role which reports into the Market Category Director- Marketing & Indirect APAC. This will be an 8-month paternity cover.

This role is accountable for execution across the A&P categories in APAC, working closely with the APAC Marketing Category team on the delivery of strategy and sourcing, as well as driving and coordinating supplier performance in conjunction with Marketing.

Additional to the Marketing category remit, this role is primarily responsible for business partnering with the leadership team to ensure market focus on financial and non-financial KPIs performance, representing procurement at the BPM forums with oversight for the coordination of team updates and inputs into projects, shaping the local business agenda.

This role will also a have a role to play in accelerating our progress with Suppliers in respect to Diageo\xe2\x80\x99s Society 2030 goals. i.e., Grain to Glass sustainability, championing inclusion and diversity, as well as promoting positive drinking.

The categories are broad and complex with varying stakeholder needs and market challenges. This requires building and managing relationships in a matrixed environment that includes the Diageo One Procurement Community, the broader APAC Procurement Team and the various market Marketing & Commercial teams. The successful Market Category Manager in this position is expected to form strong partnerships with key market stakeholders to enable the implementation of category excellence within the procurement governance framework.

The core activities/deliverables of this role are:

Business Engagement with marketing team across APAC to collect and translate business needs to category performance needs. Make sure category strategy in line with business priorities.

Lead a team that consists of 4 market category managers to delivery financial & non-financial KPIs. Ensure market driven category strategy for Data & Insight, Sponsorship & Partnership in place and initiatives been taken.

Work closely with Procurement Operations to drive user satisfaction and sourcing efficiency via continuous content development.

Lead VAP (Value Added Packaging) Category including category strategy development/Supplier performance management.

Qualifications & Experience required:

10+ years with marketing categories in FMCG industry

5+years\' experience of people management experience

Stakeholder engagement skills. Esp. with Senior Commercial Leaders.
