Math Olympiad Instructor (Primary / Secondary Level)

The
Math Olympiad Instructor
is responsible for designing, planning, and conducting engaging, developmentally appropriate training sessions to prepare students for
Mathematics Olympiad competitions
(e.g., Singapore Mathematical Olympiad, NMOS, RIPMWC, SASMO, SMOPS, AIMO, etc.), and to nurture their higher-order thinking, problem-solving, and reasoning skills.
The instructor must:
Plan and deliver structured lessons
that progressively build students' ability in logical reasoning, analytical thinking, and problem-solving across topics such as algebra, number theory, geometry, and combinatorics.
Develop and implement a curriculum
that caters to varying ability levels (e.g., Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced) in consultation with the teacher-in-charge.
Introduce problem-solving heuristics
and mathematical reasoning strategies aligned with national and international competition standards.
Facilitate experiential and inquiry-based learning
through guided discovery, puzzles, and group problem-solving discussions.
Identify and nurture high-potential students
for participation in external competitions and represent the school at relevant Olympiad events.
Design and administer diagnostic and mock assessments
to track progress and readiness for competitions.
Provide learning materials, worksheets, and solutions
for every session, ensuring conceptual clarity and progressive skill mastery.
Engage students in reflective practices
, promoting perseverance, precision, and confidence in solving challenging problems.
Collaborate with teachers-in-charge
to align goals with the school's mathematics enrichment objectives and values.
Submit lesson outlines, attendance, and progress reports
as required by the school administration.
Job Requirements:
Educational Qualification:
Minimum
Bachelor's Degree
in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or a related field from a recognised institution.
2. Professional Experience:
At least
2 years of experience
teaching or coaching in Mathematics Olympiad or Mathematics Enrichment Programmes.
Proven track record in preparing students for competitions such as
SMOPS, NMOS, SASMO, AIMO, RIPMWC,
or
SMO
.
Experience working with both
primary and/or secondary school students
in gifted or advanced mathematics contexts preferred.

Familiarity with
