As part of the mechanical engineering team, you will be responsible for performing design and analysis to support research and development of our products. You will lead concept phase, design activities, reviews and reports design's progress. Responsibilities: Planning and developing overall system architecture and mechanical timeline for the project. Define and deliver new technologies to be incorporated into products Develop modular approach to hardware design and architecture Analyze, select and implement product architectural design options Own complex system designs or problems and make technical decisions for the team Demonstrate leadership skill to influence and lead mechanical team during product development and issues resolution Proactively assess the technical risks and resolve the design issues by providing reliable solutions Ability to apply advanced mechanical engineering principles and theories to complex issues. Demonstrate broad knowledge in the mechanical design field. Ensure quality is built into designs and driven through product development Deliver project based on planned cost, schedule and quality Develop test methodology, experimentation, prototype to verify design. Work in close support of the marketing department in the analysis of customer need (VOC) and in the development of product specifications. Work with manufacturing team to support injection moulding, gear design, machining, sheet metal and assembly Participate in other aspects of the product development such as : solving manufacturing issues, product performance, repair issues, product improvements, and value engineering Work cross-functionally with internal team and other core disciplines (EE, Firmware, Software, Marketing) Support in the implementation of the architecture tools and process to maximize the efficiency of the mechanical engineering team Mentor and coach senior and junior engineers on project basis Requirements: Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 4-8 years of relevant professional experience in mechanical design. Candidates must have full experience in product development from conceptualization to mass production. Candidate must have proven track record in planning/architecting overall system and designing robust electro-mechanical systems Knowledge of mechanical engineering design principles and practice Experience in designing complex mechanisms, such as clutches, gear trains, cams, and linkages. Selection of electro-mechanical components such as motors, power transmission and sensors. Strong in design conceptualization and analysis Expertise in the design of plastic, sheet metal, gear design, die-cast parts, rubber, electro-mechanical & mechanism parts/assemblies Fluent in SolidWorks CAD software or/and FEA Sound knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing Knowledge of Design of Experiments and Six Sigma Competence with analytical techniques such as Design for Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Design for Assembly, Design for Manufacturing, and Pugh Matrix is desired.
