JOB SUMMARY

• Perform clinical testing, routine lab operation and assigned activities.

• Support all quality assurance activities and maintain good documentation.

• Support projects related to the implementation of personalized or precision medicine.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESSPECIFIC (90%) * Lab Operation

• Perform sample processing and diagnostic testing of clinical samples independently.
• Analyse and interpret test result.
• Operate and maintain equipment.
• Update QC, specimen, waste disposal and equipment logs.
• Monitor inventories to ensure adequate consumables and reagents.
• Support lab administrative activities related to purchasing, laboratory information systems and accreditation.
• Participate in new test development and validation.
• Comply with safety regulations and procedures stipulated by the laboratory and hospital.
• Contribute to drafting of work plan and work instructions (WI).
• Support the lab's research efforts related to precision medicine.
• Contribute to research presentations and manuscripts.
• Ensure laboratory cleanliness and perform assigned lab duties.

• Quality Control
• Follow processes that meet the lab licensing and accreditation requirements.
• Keep accurate records of work undertaken.
• Participate in internal and external quality assurance programs.
• Ensure all changes to the scope, test kits, methodology of the assays are documented and approved by the Lab Director.
• Improve and enhance operational processes.
• Develop tools and best practices for clinical testing and implementation.

GENERAL (10%)Any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor / Lab Director.JOB REQUIREMENTS(A) EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCEBSc or BSc (Hon) in biomedical sciences or other relevant disciplines(B) TRAINING/SKILLS REQUIREMENT

• Knowledge and experience with standard molecular biology techniques including PCR, sequencing and genotyping.
• Proficient in basic office applications (Word, Excel etc).
• Experience with data analytics tools is desirable but not essential.
• Experience in procurement processes and general lab housekeeping.
• Working knowledge and experience with basic bioinformatics (Python, R etc) is desirable but not essential.
• Meticulous and able to follow procedures.
• Excellent organizational and data management skills.
• Able to work in a team environment with good interpersonal skills.

EXPERIENCEPrior lab experience in genomics or molecular biology with aminimum of 2 years working experience in a clinical lab is a plus.
