What the role is:At the Health Sciences Authority (HSA), we recognise the enormous challenge posed today by the biomedical sciences and the blurring of boundaries between healthcare products resulting from increasing convergence in the application of medical technology. It is right here in HSA, where we are uniquely equipped to meet this challenge. A statutory board formed on 1 April 2001, we play a vital role in supporting healthcare services and regulation, serving the administration of justice and enhancing safety in our community. We are responsible for the quality, safety and efficacy of medicines, medical devices, blood and its products and all health-related products available in Singapore. We provide a comprehensive regulatory service for the evaluation and marketing approval of all therapeutic products. We also provide scientific, investigative and analytical support for vital governmental functions such as forensic expertise for the courts, drug and criminal investigations and the regulation of food safety and industrial and environmental health.The Blood Services Group (BSG) secures the nation\'s blood supply, ensuring that all Singaporeans have access to adequate and safe blood.[What the role is:]We are looking for a passionate individual to be part of the Blood Services Group (BSG), Clinical Services Division. The appointee for this position will perform medical screening and ensure suitability of blood donors based on BSG set criteria to ensure donor and blood safety.[What you will be working on]Responsibilities:-

• Conduct pre-donation medical screening, blood collection activities, counsel donors with abnormal haemoglobin test results and maintain medical databases in order to ensure safe and adequate blood collection to meet the national healthcare need
• Ensure efficient and smooth flowing of pre-donation medical interview and counselling processes
• Ensure efficient and smooth mobile blood collection activities
• Ensure donor well-being during blood collection process
• Promote donor retention

[What we are looking for]Requirements:-

• At least 5 years of nursing experience (nurse must be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board); or
• Relevant qualification in healthcare related field (e.g. nursing, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, MBBS) or equivalent
• Working experience in general nursing/medical technology/blood bank is preferred
• Please note that this is not a practising nursing / clinician position
