- Perform specimen analysis and report results accurately following established procedures
- Responsible for recognising deviation from expected results, analysing and correcting problems using scientific principles
- Performs instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
- Assist in quality assurance processes and quality control procedures according to established recommendations
- Participate in internal and external quality assurance programmes
- Assist in other laboratory areas, including sample reception and sample storage as required
- Participate fully in the general housekeeping of the laboratory to maintain a clean and tidy working environment
- Monitors inventory and lab supplies in assigned area or department
- Trains or instructs laboratory personnel in performance of lab tests and procedures where assigned
- Additional duties and responsibilities as requested by manager
- Min BSc in Biomedical Science, BSc in Biotechnology or BSc in a related Science field and/or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years of working experience in routine haematology, chemistry and urinalysis
- Willing to learn, positive attitude and must be a teamplayer
- Salary commensurate with experience
