THE TEAM
We are part of the AMD Research and Advanced Development group, and focus on innovation, differentiation, de-risking of the technology in future systems and products, and seeding new market opportunities. Our technical focus is to research and evaluate next-generation networking solutions for AI and machine learning, data center networking and heterogenous computing, among others. Our work spans research and development in both hardware and software aspects of systems.
THE ROLE
The Staff Researcher should be an active researcher with an established international reputation, who can make technical contributions to projects that deliver value for AMD. These contributions will span hardware, software, and applications, using a variety of languages, methodologies, and tools. It is expected that the researcher will have the background and practical skills to make significant contributions within the focus areas of the team (mentioned above). However, it is essential that the researcher also has a flexible approach to research topics, since our team adopts a very agile approach to address rapidly changing opportunities and priorities.
The researcher will participate in the building of a collaborative ecosystem in Singapore and around the Asia-Pacific region (with research institutes and universities), and will also participate in relevant industry forums and scientific conferences.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Ph.D. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
Research experience in one or more of the following areas: data center networking (e.g. programmable data planes); machine learning and artificial intelligence; computer architecture; hardware/software co-design; FPGA design, deployment, applications and tools.
Knowledge of distributed systems, high performance computing, and distributed machine learning training is valuable.
Four years of relevant experience, including internships, graduate research, and employment in academic or industrial research groups, is preferred.
