We are looking for an action-oriented individual to work with the Mechanical, Electrical, and Piping (MEP) team as an intern on a multi-year design and construction of the largest multistory data center in Asia.
Reporting to a project engineer and/or project manager, you will be expected to assist the MEP team with the completion and approval of shop drawing submittals, material submittals, and Requests for Information (RFIs) for the MEP trade partners (contractors) to perform their scope of work by: maintaining spreadsheets to track open items and following up with the design consultants, trade partners, and other project members to ensure that outstanding issues are resolved by the due dates. You may have to draw upon your effective communication skills to instruct and persuade different stakeholders to complete their tasks on time. You will also report on construction activities/schedule, design changes, shop drawings statuses, and RFIs to the MEP team.
Ideally, you will also identify opportunities in these workflows and implement solutions to improve productivity by automating routine tasks and developing self-service dashboards.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in architecture, computer sciences, engineering, mathematics, statistics, business analytics, project and facilities management, information systems, or a related degree program
• Proficiency in Excel; e.g., create PivotTables, PivotCharts, execute commands in Excels Formula and Data tabs
• Demonstrated experience presenting information in a concise and useful manner on Powerpoint
• Demonstrated experience with business intelligence solutions like PowerBI or Tableau

Preferred Qualifications:

• Interest in construction or project management, data centers, workflow optimization for reporting as demonstrated through prior projects, internships, thesis, research, student clubs, and hobbies
• Familiarity with construction and design management software like Navisworks, ProCore, Novade, and Oracle Aconex
• Demonstrated experienced user of PowerBI or Tableau
• Expert in Excel; e.g., record, modify macros in VBA
• Familiarity using mark-up tools on software like Adobe, Blue Beam
• Knowledge of good data visualization principles
• Demonstrated examples of improving personal or organizational productivity
• Strong communication skills of instruction and persuasion

Construction or engineering experience is not necessary.
