Systems Engineering in NetApp\'s Sales function, you are responsible for directing all aspects of the Systems Engineering organization for your assigned Region including pre-sales and post-sales support for selling NetApp\'s products or services to existing and future clients. You develop long-term strategies and shorter term plans to meet aggressive performance goals. You must be extremely results driven, customer focused, technologically savvy, and skilled at building internal relationships and external partnerships. The Solutions Engineering Manager leads the team of Solutions Engineers and oversees technical feasibility of proposed solutions and implementation of products/applications/solutions.Job RequirementsThe overall responsibilities of the Mgr. Systems Engineering are to provide management oversight to Systems Engineers and for growth and development of the function including selecting, hiring and developing results-oriented professional employees. Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Participate in strategic planning sessions with the Sales Management team on a quarterly and annual basis to create a local sales and marketing plan to drive revenue.
  • Communicate sales and marketing strategies and plans to employees within your Region.
  • Plan and direct activities including planning and implementing forecasts, marketing program development, relationship development, customer satisfaction, and collateral material development and distribution.
  • Identify needed resources for supporting sales strategy and develop a proposed budget for Senior Management review.
  • Be an Active Leader - Operate as a business partner to Sales and be an active contributor to the Leadership Team helping grow business through leading initiatives beyond the specific scope of Presales.
  • Review management plans with other District Managers on a regular basis.
  • Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure departmental goals are met.
  • Keep senior management informed of key issues and changes which may impact expected business results.
  • Assume responsibility for result, including costs, methods and staffing.
Skills and Education required
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience as an individual contributor and 1 to 5 years as a people manager is required.
  • A Bachelor of Arts of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science; or related field is required; a Graduate Degree is preferred.
  • Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, including presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees within department and across functions.
  • Must have an aptitude for understanding how technology products and solutions solve business problems.
  • Ability to convey information clearly and analysis as needed to help customer make buying decisions.
