What the role is:
Applications for the Ministry of Finance (MOF) Summer Internship Programme are now open. As an MOF intern, you will gain valuable insights and contribute to projects that support national policy-making and shape the everyday lives of Singaporeans. Interns are required to commit at least 10 weeks between May to Aug 2026. MOF's Government Procurement Function Office Directorate is looking for undergraduates to undertake the following project(s). Note: You are welcome to apply for internships/projects with different MOF Directorates if the topics suit your interest and experience. If you are shortlisted, you will be invited to indicate your preferred project(s) prior to the selection interview. What you will be working on:
Project #1: Data analysis of Procurement Perception Survey and Procurement Performance Assessment Framework This project focuses on analysing the Procurement Perception Survey (PPS) and Procurement Performance Assessment Framework (PPAF) data to uncover actionable insights that drive whole of government (WOG) procurement development. Key responsibilities: o Identify key performance gaps and critical drivers, as well as reveal correlations that can influence procurement outcomes and user satisfaction. o Generate comprehensive reports for each Ministry Family so that procurement teams can make informed decisions and targeted actions to develop their procurement function maturity. o Support analysis on value metrics for the procurement function, ensuring that the insights drawn from PPS and PPAF data align with broader procurement functional goals. Project #2: AI-assisted Procurement Portal Migration and Enhancement The current Procurement Portal on the government intranet contains a wealth of information for officers involved in procurement work. As it migrates to a new platform, there is an opportunity to ensure only up-to-date and relevant content is carried over and also enhance the usability of this content for users so they are able to make use of it in the flow of work. This project focuses on using AI tools to assist in identifying, classifying, and prioritising large amounts of textual, diagrammatic content in a variety of formats to be migrated from the existing Procurement Portal to a new platform. Key responsibilities, using AI tools: o Stock-take all currently available Procurement Portal content and assess their currency and relevancy by checking against the latest Instruction Manuals (IM) and other policy documents. o Identify content (such as guides, checklists, playbooks or other instructive material) that can be further developed into job aids for users. o Make recommendations on how to organise the content in the new portal to improve the user experience for users. Project #3 - Strategic HR Operations: From Talent Acquisition to Programme Excellence This project supports the strategic development and operations of the Procurement Professional Programme (P3), a whole-of-government initiative developing early-career graduates into procurement leaders. You will gain hands-on experience across the full talent lifecycle while contributing to data-driven programme improvements. Key Responsibilities: o Talent Acquisition: Screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and streamline application processes. o Learning & Development: Source and organise training programmes, workshops, and networking events for cohorts. o Programme Coordination: Design onboarding materials and work with agencies to curate meaningful on-the-job training experiences. o Analytics & Insights: Conduct research and develop data-driven evaluation frameworks and performance metrics for process improvements, including programme analytics and reporting to drive operational excellence. This role offers exposure to strategic HR operations, cross-government stakeholder management, and data analytics in a public sector context. Project #4: GeBIZ X The GeBIZ X Project aims to implement a Whole-of-Government (WOG)'s next generation procurement platform which digitalises the whole procurement process. This presents new and improved opportunities to leverage on data for better decision-making, improving procurement process, and ensuring high levels of governance. Key responsibilities: o Maintain and update project documentation such as requirements trackers and timeline dashboards. o Track and document outcomes from coordination meetings with technical teams and various workstreams. o Prepare communications materials and collaterals required for engagement with suppliers and agencies. o Support engagements with agencies/ suppliers, including collating and analysing feedback. Project #5: AI Bot / Digital Tool for Processing Debarment Cases Debarment is an internal government procedure designed to protect the Government's interests as a service buyer against companies or individuals who have caused direct harm and losses in past dealings with the Government. Debarment decisions are made by the Standing Committee on Debarment ("SCOD"), which is staffed by MOF as the Secretariat. This project is to develop an AI Bot or a digital tool to support the Secretariat to SCOD in due diligence checks for simple cases and generating debarment letters which are sent to the companies/ individuals to inform them of their debarment.
