The Engine Overhaul business has the capability to service all products in the Trent engine family, this includes: Trent 500, Trent 700, Trent 800, Trent 900, Trent 1000 and Trent XWB; SAESL is the only Trent engine MRO that can support all product variants. The Engine Overhaul business has the capacity to repair and overhaul over 300 Trent engines per year and it is equipped with a state-of-the-art Engine Test Facility that supports our best in class engine turnaround times.

About this role
To lead the technical planning, deployment, and assurance of quality improvement programmes aligned to the Zero Defects strategy, Safety and Quality Management System, and organisational performance goals. The role is key in driving programme integrity, standardisation, and alignment across business functions & units, supporting the transformation of quality and safety outcomes

1. Programme Development & Execution

• Design, lead, collaborate with business functions on key quality programmes (e.g., Defect Reduction, Critical Parts Assurance, First-Time-Right initiatives) from concept to operationalisation.
• Translate strategic objectives into actionable programme roadmaps, KPIs, and impact metrics.
• Serve as quality SME in cross-functional programme teams ensuring robust integration of compliance, process control, and risk management.

2. Quality Strategy Enablement

• Support the Manager in embedding the Zero Defects Strategy across workstreams (People, Process, Product, Systems, & Data).
• Drive alignment between quality programmes and enterprise-wide initiatives (e.g., MES, SAP S4/HANA transformation).
• Lead structured problem-solving and lessons learned reviews to inform future programme design.

3. Governance & Standardisation

• Develop and maintain the programme governance standard diaries.
• Ensure consistent quality programme deployment across sites and business units.
• Facilitate reviews to assess programme maturity, effectiveness, and alignment with regulatory and customer requirements.

4. Stakeholder Engagement & Influence

• Act as a trusted advisor to site Quality Managers, Business Unit Leaders, and Engineering teams on programme integration.
• Drive engagement through technical leadership, coaching, and communication of quality expectations.
• Represent the Strategy & Programmes team in technical working groups and improvement initiatives.

5. Data & Performance Insights

• Partner with the Data Analytics Engineer to build dashboards and reports to monitor programme performance.
• Use analytics and trend insights to drive proactive interventions and highlight systemic risks.
• Promote a data-driven quality culture across teams through practical interpretation of defect and risk data.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering or equivalent, preferably in aerospace, mechanical, or manufacturing disciplines.
• 5 to 7 years of experience in aerospace MRO or manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a quality or programme delivery role.
• Proven experience in quality system deployment, lean six sigma, and process improvement.
• Knowledge of EASA/CAAS Part 145, AS9110, and regulatory requirements would be beneficial
• Strong programme management and cross-functional leadership
• Advanced problem-solving (8D, RCA, FMEA, Bowtie Analysis)
• Strategic and systems thinking
• High communication and stakeholder influencing skills
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional programmes and deliver results
• Technical writing and documentation control
• Familiar with digital QMS tools, SAP, MES, and analytics platforms
