MTO NPDI New Product Introduction Control Systems EngineerDescription -What a MTO NPDI New Product Introduction Control Systems Engineer does at HP:

  • Designs engineering solutions for electrical and electronic parts, subsystems, integrated circuitry, and algorithms based on established engineering principles.
  • Develops and implements parameters and test plans for new and existing designs to debug defective hardware/ electronic units, sub-assemblies, and process steps.
  • Leads multiple project teams of other control systems engineers and internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms, including solution design, analysis, coding, testing, and integration.
  • Reviews and evaluates designs and project activities for compliance with systems design and development guidelines and standards; provides tangible feedback to improve product quality and mitigate failure risk.
  • Provides domain-specific expertise and overall control systems leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
  • Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding design status, project progress, and issue resolution.
  • Drives innovation and integration of new technologies into projects and activities in the software systems design organization.
  • Solves difficult and complex problems with fresh perspective, demonstrating good judgment in selecting creative solutions and managing projects independently.
  • Delivers professionally written reports, and supports realization of operational and strategic plans.
  • Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of electrical hardware design and development, innovation, and excellence.
Education & Experience Recommended
  • Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in IEEE, Computer Science, Information Systems or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
  • Typically 6-10 years experience preferably in control systems, electrical design and tools, software packages, architecture of electronic hardware, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

  • Extensive experience with multiple control systems design tools and languages.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in overall architecture of control systems for products and solutions.
  • Designing and integrating control systems running on multiple platform types into overall architecture.
  • Evaluating forms and processes for control systems testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English and local language. Ability to effectively communicate product architectures, design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
