The network environment consists of both internal company networks and external customer serving network centric products. The Network Engineer will provide experienced and comprehensive advanced technical expertise for a Data & Transport network and will serve as part of the team to develop and maintain the growing infrastructure

Job Responsibilities:

• Installation, configuration and maintenance of network equipment, software and services to support the WAN and LAN environments of companies providing network center products and services to customers.
• Enable and test circuits on routers, switching equipment, WDM equipment and other network equipment on new network nodes.
• Participate in 7\xc3\x9724 hour shift support as a 3/4 level support of the technical operations team to provide network problem escalation support.
• Manage, implement and maintain network monitoring and change management systems.
• Perform site surveys, documentation, engineering and development for network expansion and new site creation.
• Create bill of materials (BOM) and engineering packages for new installations.
• Manage projects for technical teams and coordinate the development of complex network platforms and services.
• Identify new technologies and alternative network systems to improve customer experience.
• Identifying operational issues and making design changes to resolve them.
• Communicate with other business functions within the business to understand technical issues and business impact.
• Conducting detailed ex-post analyses of anomalies and guiding the processes and process changes required to address.
• Create and update documentation for operating procedures, network topologies and customer databases and manage close workflows with various levels of the support organization to provide network support.

Job Requirements:

• At least 6 years of experience in network operations and engineering.
• Bachelor\'s degree in computer science or other engineering discipline

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced network design and ability to understand overall infrastructure implications related to hardware and software selection.
• Ability to work independently on complex and unique enterprise engineering projects.
• Knowledge of relevant network protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS-TP.
• Knowledge of STP, virtual LAN and clustering (802.1q) and correct implementation of these technologies.
• Expertise in network security implementation (ACLs, IPSec tunnels) - ability to design and implement network security policies by balancing diverse and dynamic business needs.
• Ability to perform (advanced) configuration, testing, and troubleshooting of directed IP network infrastructure and remote WAN circuits.
• Ability to participate in off-hours support, travel to IBXs worldwide, and perform on-call support shifts.
• Experience with major hardware and platform vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, F5, Palo Alto Networks, etc.
• Experience with TCP dumps or network protocol analysers (e.g. Wireshark).
• Attention to solving security problems
• Advanced technical qualifications (e.g. CCNA, JNCIA, CCNP) a plus.
