Objectives of the position:
The NPI / Production Process Engineer is required to collaborate with the Program Management Team
and be involved in New Product Introduction activities and the creation of manufacturing Work
Instructions as well as other process documents. The incumbent is also expected to improve the work
processes actively and continuously to achieve high productivity and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
xefx82xb7 Early involvement in NPI (New Product Introduction) activities.
xefx82xb7 Interpret technical information (documents, drawings, and data) and analyse the manufacturing
process elements.
xefx82xb7 Create Bill of Materials structure.
xefx82xb7 Create manufacturing Work Instructions and other process documents in collaboration with the
Program Management, Production and Quality Assurance Teams.
xefx82xb7 Carry out time studies and update the process cycle times.
xefx82xb7 Provide timely technical support to the Production Team pertaining to manufacturing process and
quality issues.
xefx82xb7 Engage in DFM and Lean Line Design activities.
xefx82xb7 Relentlessly explore, evaluate, and review new tools, equipment, processes, etc.
xefx82xb7 Actively and continuously improve the work processes to improve work efficiency and quality.
xefx82xb7 Work with Program Management, Production, and Quality Assurance Teams to identify potential
process risks and make recommendations to mitigate these risks.
xefx82xb7 Any other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the Manager and/or Engineering Lead.
Skills & Qualification:
xefx82xb7 Minimum Diploma in any Engineering field such as Electrical, Mechanical/Mechatronics,
Manufacturing/Production or industrial Engineering
xefx82xb7 Min. 3 years of manufacturing process engineering experience, preferably dealing with wire or cable
harness. Candidates with less experience may be considered for the Asst. Engineer position
xefx82xb7 Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
xefx82xb7 Basic manufacturing knowledge in cable harness assemblies, plastics and sheet metal preferred
xefx82xb7 Experienced in the creation Bill of Materials structures
xefx82xb7 Good knowledge on Solid Edge or SolidWorks preferred.
xefx82xb7 Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
xefx82xb7 Lean/Six Sigma certification is desirable
xefx82xb7 Strong analytical ability
xefx82xb7 Team player with good communication skills
