About The Role Bukit Batok Home for the Aged is a residential care facility for male and female destitute persons managed by 4S and established by the Ministry of Social and Family Development under the Destitute Persons Act. Job requirements: At least a qualification in any of the following: - NITEC in Community Care and Social Services - NITEC in Nursing - HMI Institute of Health Sciences Certificate in Healthcare Support ' Patient Care, - WSQ Certificate in Therapy Services and with relevant work experience in nursing care-related services such as Patient Care Assistant, Therapy Assistant and Porter Key responsibilities include: - Assist doctors and registered nurses in simple procedures or treatments under supervision - Carrying out basic nursing procedures such as wound dressing documenting, monitoring and recording observations of residents and their vital signs and reporting changes in condition to the registered nurse - Supervise or assist residents in their daily needs (e.g. personal grooming and daily living activities) - Escort residents for outings or medical appointments The Nursing Aide will report to the Head Nurse. Candidate Requirements Technical Competencies: - Ability to do simple nursing duties under supervision - Ability to assist with simple personal care of residents (e.g. feeding, change diapers, shower residents with difficulty in performing those tasks) - Ability to take and monitor vital signs - Ability to converse and write in basic English Core Competencies: - Passion for the service - Consideration for others, esp those in need and disadvantaged - Team player - Has initiative Preferred achievements / characteristics: - Experience working in a residential care facility is an added advantage - Must be willing to work rotating shifts including night duty - Overtime pay (Work done above 44 hours per week) Only short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview.
