Job Description

1. The Nursing Aide provides support and assistance to the Staff Nurse in the delivery of

nursing care to the residents and helps to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable

environment for them.

2. Assists the Staff Nurse in the delivery of nursing care to the residents in the home.

3. Provides basic nursing care to the residents.

4. Carries out nursing rounds with the Staff Nurse.

5. Assists the Staff Nurse in the supervision of Healthcare Attendants and Healthcare

Assistants.

6. Ensures the comfort and good hygiene of the residents under his/her care, eg. bed

bath/shower bath, changing of clothes and bed sheets and tidiness of the room.

7. Assists in the administration of oral and topical medicines.

8. Checks, monitors and records residents' vital signs such as temperature, pulse,

respiration, blood pressure and apex beat.

9. Assists in the transfer and positioning of non-ambulant residents.

10. Assists in serving the correct diets and feeding residents who are unable to feed

themselves.

11. Maintains accurate documentation of care given.

12. Assists in the admission and orientation of new residents.

13. Keeps incontinent residents clean and dry.

14. Performs rehabilitation procedures such as motion exercises for the residents and

walking them.

15. Organises and sends residents for appropriate therapy as prescribed eg. occupational

therapy, laundry, kitchen and ward work and garden cleaning.

16. Helps to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home.

Carries out any other duties as assigned by the Staff Nurse.

17. To do any other assignment given by Nurse Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $1,200.00 - $2,000.00 per month
