The Occupational Health (OH) Leads are vital in managing risks, preventing harm and supporting physical, psychological & social wellbeing of workers at our operations in Shell\xe2\x80\x99s Energy and Chemicals Park (Bukom) Singapore.

You\xe2\x80\x99re going to be a key part of our Shell Health Singapore and Bukom Team; a multidisciplinary team of professionals who are passionate about helping Shell deliver more and cleaner energy solutions. You will be a valued member of the broader Shell Health community globally and will contribute to Shell\xe2\x80\x99s strategic success by supporting Country Health Manager, Singapore in leading the company to achieve the strongest reputation in the industry with regards to Powering Healthier Lives.

What\xe2\x80\x99s the role?

As the Occupational Health Lead at the Energy and Chemicals Park (Bukom) Singapore, you will need the ability to adapt and integrate diverse (e.g., office vs operational site; city vs remote locations; asset vs project phases) and shifting business requirements and demands relating to health and wellness, and drive and deliver on Shell Health\xe2\x80\x99s business objectives, including:

  • Implementing Group Strategy and Standards for Health; including accountabilities with regards to managing and evaluating the provision of high-quality occupational health and industrial hygiene services within the Bukom Energy and Chemicals site.
  • Developing, implementing and evaluating, with key stakeholders, a comprehensive Health plan for employees and the Shell Operated businesses, and Contract Management.
  • Managing direct reports and providing functional supervision for Health Contractors within the Bukom health team.
  • Set strategy and influence local business and functional leaders (including Country Chairs where applicable) with regards to broad health risks, requirements and initiatives, including those pertaining to compliance and continuous improvement in the health field
  • Establish the 4-3-2-1 concept in the team, strict prioritization of workload, elimination of low value work and delegation of transactional work as pat of a supply led function
  • Establish in the team, the matrix organization culture and mindset of both vertical and horizontal interfaces
  • Provision of Health leadership to Shell in Bukom and eliminating health inequities
What we need from you

Furthermore, you will have:
  • Primary Degree in Medicine; registrable with the Singapore Medical Council.
  • At least 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a broad health area.
  • Registered Workplace Doctor (RWD) status with Ministry of Manpower and/or Master\xe2\x80\x99s in Occupational Medicine (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Significant experience in occupational health or any of the other health disciplines, preferably acquired working within a large organisation in the oil and gas or comparable industry.
  • Experience in health promotion related activities and programs will be advantageous.
  • Must have the ability to engage and influence business / functional stakeholders (country chairs, local/ business and functional leaders as well, where applicable)
  • Skills in project and contract management, verbal & written communication and time management
  • Proven ability to positively and creatively impact team culture and delivery
  • A commitment to authentic, honest, open and transparent communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and track record of delivering through others
