About The Role 1)To provide Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to clients. 2)To maximize the rehabilitative potential of clients and improve their quality of life. 3)Utilizes appropriate assessment techniques to evaluate About The Role 1)To provide Occupational Therapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to clients. 2)To maximize the rehabilitative potential of clients and improve their quality of life. 3)Utilizes appropriate assessment techniques to evaluate functional ability and safety in activities of daily living, cognition, perception, work, leisure and social skills. 4)Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This will include attending consultation with the clients, their family, ward staff and other outside agencies. 5)Maintains accurate and timely client records. 6)Instructs and supervises OT assistant in carrying out occupational therapy intervention. 7)To practice occupational therapy in a safe, and ethical manner. Practice should reflect consideration of socio-cultural values of the client, and family and significant others. 8)Maintain absolute confidentiality in matters pertaining to the organization. Clients records are always to be maintained in order to maintain the privacy of clients. 9)Responsible for training the OT assistants. 10)Be responsible for OT students on internship within the organization. 11)To liaise with external services, statutory bodies and other VWOs as appropriate or when necessary. 12)To take responsibility for the maintenance and replacement of equipment in the OT service. 13)Carry out other tasks or projects which assigned by Supervisor or Medical Care Manager (To be carry on at Technical Competencies..) Candidate Requirements Technical Competencies: 14)Staff must report and resolve incidents with his or her immediate reporting if they find that activities are not carried out correctly which may not benefit the clients. 15)To report all accidents or potential hazards to the reporting officer. Core Competencies: . Mature and a good team player. . Able to serve those clients in need, regardless of race, nationality, religious or social status. . Compassionate and able to relate well with the sick clients of the center. . Caring, understanding client and is empathetic. Preferred achievements / characteristics: .Basic diploma or degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. .Post graduate qualification or certification in Gerontology .Full registration with AHPC .
