What the role is:The Office of the Director-General of Social Welfare promotes the understanding of social service practice to influence social policies, ensure safe practice and build professional capability and leadership. The Office engages and works with stakeholders and social service agencies to uphold standards of professional practice.What you will be working on:You will be part of a team that: (a) promotes the understanding of social service practice so as to influence social policies, ensure safe practice and build professional capability and leadership; (b) conducts practice observations of relevant social service agencies; (c) sets up competency building platforms to enhance professional support and strengthen practice standards; (d) contributes toward strengthening caseworkers\' capabilities to support families in need and vulnerable persons in the community. Work with the respective Divisions to ensure that statutory functions as specified under the legislations are carried out appropriately with professionalism Provide independent and professional practice inputs/advice on case management, incident management and service delivery to other MSF Divisions or non-Ministry agencies Lead/co-lead/participate in workgroup to address practice issues Drive practice standards and build competencies of workers on delivery of services Provide guidance and consult on development of relevant policies so as to drive and support service delivery Facilitate engagements with ground workers in understanding their challenges and needs Drive the conduct of Practice Observations across FSCs to assess their competencies and areas of needs Develop guides and training related materials on practice-related matters Represent Singapore in the ASEAN Social Work consortiumWhat we are looking for:
