Job Description


The Risk and Prevention - Operations Risk Team drives the Operational Risk Culture and facilitates the implementation and on-going monitoring of adherence to the OCBC Group Policies & Procedures and regulatory requirements, enabling effective and efficient risk identification, assessment, mitigation, measurement, monitoring and reporting of key operational risks for the Group Operations and Technology Division (GO&T) across the region.The candidate needs to be analytical and has the ability to identify risk hotspots, control gaps and recommend effective and sustainable solutions to the Senior Management.Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop assurance plan for the Division to ensure comprehensive coverage of risk hotspots.
  • Take initiative and leadership to plan and execute end-to-end assurance review, conducting interviews, analysing data, evaluating controls to assess the design and operating effectiveness and perform detailed testing procedures.
  • Conduct thematic risk reviews to identify control gaps and control enhancement opportunities.
  • Provide risk related advice, conduct objective review and challenge to risk issues/ process changes identified by business units to ensure operational risk identified is assessed adequately, and appropriate controls are in place to mitigate the risks.
  • Independently identify, assess risk and drives actions to address the root causes that give rise to recurring operational lapses.
  • Review and discuss Operational Risk Events with stakeholders to ensure right root cause and appropriate action plan has been developed.
  • Perform impact analysis on Group Policies and regulatory changes for the Division, develop and drives consistent and sustainable process to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct Division wide Operational Risk related trainings to promote risk culture awareness.
QualificationsRequired Experience: * University degree with 10+ years of experience in audit/ operational risk management / quality assurance in banks.
  • Strong understanding of Operations end-to-end processes, with ability to identify risks and control inadequacies within the process.
  • Candidates with experience in utilising data analytics/ artificial intelligence in risk management activities will be advantageous.
