Job Description




Summary

The Operations Engineer role has direct interfaces with the following departments and has the responsibility to provide support and current information which concerns vessel operations.

Operations Team which consists of Vessel Ops Manager, Operations Lead, Drilling Manager, Marine Supt, Logistics Coordinator. Responsibilities include;

Seconds and assists the Operations Lead as instructed and ensuring project equipment is mobilized and demobilized in an efficient and timely manner

Taking joint responsibility with Logistics Supervisor, Drilling Manager and Vessel Superintendent to ensure that all pre-requisites and activities for planned mobilisation / demobilisation of drilling and geotechnical equipment are executed.

Liaise with vendors and suppliers for procurement of services, material required for vessel operation, maintenance and mob/demob while closely working with procurement department.

Develop Scope of Work for services required for mobilization and demobilization (i.e yard services, load test services, hot work services, equipment overhaul etc)

Maintain monthly vessel and yard inventory of project equipment, spares, consumables and raise purchase requisition for top up in timely manner.

Actively involved in Action Tracker Coordination Meetings and Corrective Action Registers are maintained and closed out in a timely manner.

Stock keeping including inventory management in the yards with the support of the Logistics Coordinator.

Backup the logistics coordinator for arranging logistics, warehouse matters, permits, goods received notes.

Ensures logistics and procurement plans are planned and conducted safely and efficiently while working together with the Logistics Coordinator.

Project Delivery Team which consists of Project Managers, Project Administrators. Responsibilities include;

Leads vessel readiness and mobilization and port call activities with Offshore Manager and Project Manager. Ensures project equipment is mobilized in an efficient and timely manner.

Review & Comment Installation Procedures and ensure compliance of project specific tools with vessel equipment

Provide Operations Expertise (dedicated offshore personnel) in Engineering review (HIRA)

Fleet Services \xe2\x80\x93 working closely with Vessel Superintendents and Technical Superintendents. Responsibilities include;

Interfacing with Master, TSI and VSI\xe2\x80\x99s to ensure that all mobilisation and port call planning is carried out as planned on time and on budget

Leads marine assurance processes for the vessels with support from the project and marine team

Support functions \xe2\x80\x93 Procurement, Finance, Legal, QHSE

Working closely with procurement teams to manage vendors and optimise 3rd party costs

Leading efforts with the operations and project teams on keeping on top of leading and lagging Quality and HSE KPI\xe2\x80\x99s

Responsibilities

Execute any specific mobilization activities, including development of procedures, task plans, lift plans, as instructed.

Manages and monitors vessels preparation, If needed - On-hire surveys to the satisfaction of the project team and to satisfy COMPANY\xe2\x80\x99s assurance process.

Liaise with various local subcontractors as necessary, in conjunction with SCM / Procurement teams.

Identify in advance need of additional support and test requirement from equipment / service engineers for critical activities,

Propose innovative solution allowing cost and risks reduction.

Ensure that all work performed complies with the requirements of the Project and is carried out in accordance with the rules and the methods of the Company.

Ensure that all aspects of project Safety, Health & Quality are implemented on each of the work sites and report to Project\xe2\x80\x99s HSE organization as necessary.

Ensures that inventory in the yards are kept up to date and equipment maintained as per the schedule.

Reviews Logistics Coordinator\xe2\x80\x99s logistics plans relevant to the assigned vessel mob/demob and ensures alignment with Company\xe2\x80\x99s procedures and HSSE guidelines. In absence of logistics coordinator, arranges the logistic arrangements.

Workflows and processes are followed as per the RACI framework.

Attend daily conference call with Offshore Manager and Project Manager to ensure regular follow up of project needs in terms of personnel, equipment, planning during mobilisation, fieldwork and demobilisation phases

Ensure project consumables (such as operational equipment (internal and external), survey consumables) required on top of vessel standard consumables are defined and delivered by project to the vessel.

Must possess skill sets and demonstrate proven experience of developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Require the ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.

Supporting activities and tasks delegated by Operations Lead in marine assurance process compliance requirements.

Plan, schedule and execute all mobilization and demobilization activities on existing vessels, new build vessels or vessels of opportunity with Project Management. Ensure that all stakeholders stick to a prescribed plan and deviations are addressed proactively.

Ops Engineer shall at all times know the current progress of the mobilization / demobilization with respect to planning and should be able to give details of why ahead / behind schedule.

Ensure delivered project equipment are function-tested and calibrated with appropriate certification. Maintain record of certifications in operations folder dedicated to the project Mob/Demob

Carry out rigging calculations for offshore lifts, formulate lift plans for mob and demob of equipment.

Validate sequence and associated schedule changes initiated by the project

Requirements

Third-level technical or similar university degree education in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with several years\xe2\x80\x99 work experience.

At least 5 - 8 years of experiences in marine industry, working in subsea or marine construction projects will be an advantage.

At least 3 - 5 years of supervisory level with or without direct reports.

Valid driver\xe2\x80\x99s license with acceptable motor vehicle record required.

High-level competence to communicate clearly and accurately, in English language, both verbal and written.

Advance Level in Microsoft Office-365 apps and / or Autocad.

Proactive, positive attitude, meticulous with good attention to detail.

Strong ability to follow-up on pending actions / activities.

Flexible, reliable, independent, and able to work well in fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
