DESIGNATION : Operations Engineer (Gas Plant Operations)



RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Purpose





To ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Combined Cycle Power Plant (CCPP) and its auxiliary systems, in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.


Key Responsibilities




Guide a team of officers to execute operational activities safely and efficiently. Monitor and track plant performance indicators, analyse operational data and trends, and implement measures to enhance efficiency, availability, and reliability. Support troubleshooting efforts and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for equipment failures or process deviations; implement corrective and preventive actions. Review and update operating procedures to ensure accuracy, compliance, and operational effectiveness. Prepare and maintain technical production records, operational reports, and risk assessments in accordance with audit and regulatory requirements. Assist in planning and coordinating daily operational activities, ensuring compliance with statutory, regulatory, and safety requirements. Collaborate with maintenance teams to plan, schedule and coordinate outages, inspections, and repairs to minimise downtime and optimise asset performance. Participate in commissioning for new equipment, plant overhauls, and conduct functional and performance tests to validate operational readiness. Enforce safe work practices through the PermittoWork (PTW) system and Lockout/ Tagout procedures and ensure compliance with regulatory and company safety standards. Respond promptly to emergencies, equipment failures, and unplanned outages to ensure swift restoration of operations. Support training programs for operational staff, mentor team members, and contribute to competency development initiatives. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, cost optimization, and reliability enhancements through datadriven analysis and best practices.




QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements




Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or a related Engineering discipline. Knowledge of power plant operations, processes, and safety protocols. Relevant experience in CCPP or similar power generation facilities is preferred. Strong analytical, communication, and problemsolving skills. Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. * Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.
