EMURGO is looking for a Contract Operations Manager for 6 months (maybe longer)to support the Chief Operating Officer and his office.Who we areEMURGO is the official commercial and venture arm of the Cardano Blockchain, a smart contract platform with advanced security assurance - Currently Top 3 of decentralized smart contract platforms and Top 10 of all cryptocurrencies on CoinMarketCap.As a founding member of the Cardano protocol, EMURGO develops, supports, and incubates commercial opportunities and helps integrate businesses into our blockchain system.Our businesses include:

• EMURGO Fintech develops the best mobile and wallet applications to interact with the Cardano blockchain to serve as a baseline platform for others to build upon

• EMURGO Media has developed a social content platform with the Cardano community at its core and positioned for creation, curation, aggregation and monetization of the ecosystem projects and tools.

• EMURGO Academy provides Cardano blockchain courses to students and developers looking to start, or transition to, a career in the blockchain industry, as well as executives and entrepreneurs seeking to understand how Cardano blockchain might augment their businesses.

• EMURGO Ventures invests in Web3 initiatives, including DeFi and NFT projects, blockchain developer education tools, and other decentralized application projects, especially those with interoperability potential, as well as middleware solutions companies in developed markets.

• EMURGO Africa is an investment vehicle that also provides hands-on acceleration and incubation programs, with $100m having been earmarked for investments in Africa, where a key growth driver in the region is the use of lending and borrowing crypto services for daily life.

The COO TeamThe purpose of the Contract Operations Manager is to support the COO in operational cadence & execution of strategic objectives by helping to provide cohesive direction across all businesses and supporting functions.The purpose of the COO Team is to support the COO/CEO in their responsibilities.What you\'ll be doing

• The Manager will work within the COO Team on a variety of initiatives to support the COO and management, as well as with individual business units, to execute critical deliverables. Common examples include:
• Support project management by monitoring task progress, periodic status reporting, and escalation.
• Liaise with internal legal teams and external counsel to identify, and mitigate, key risks.
• Assist business units with specific help related to discrete projects.
• Collaborate with Finance, Legal, HR and Marketing teams as required to fulfill strategic initiatives.
• The work is varied in its nature with a need to readily zip between high-level scenario analysis to granular attention to detail.
• The incumbent will be in frequent communication with related business units on calls, via email or Slack, across a number of time zones.
• Represent EMURGO externally, either in small-setting meetings or at large-scale conferences.
• Prepare and update presentation material.
• Identify potential business issues, either internal or driven by external crypto market events.

What you bring to EMURGO

• A minimum of 3-5 years experience with a preference for a banking/financial services/investment background.
• Have a background and/or strong interest in blockchain technology and its history, with an awareness of current thematic changes.
• Experience in strategic or execution roles requiring validation of business/operating models.
• An ability to prepare, understand and interpret financial and business analysis. Prior M&A/valuation experience is a plus.
• Confidence to challenge their own understanding and learn from others.
• Have an inquisitive mindset coupled with a determination to investigate anything that is not fully understood.
• Strong communication skills, with an ability to listen, convey complex ideas, and manage difficult conversations.
• The incumbent must be proficient in spoken and written English, as the main internal language of business, and sensitive to linguistic, as well as cultural, differences.
• Comfortable with conceptual and operating ambiguity.
• Highly organized.

• Based in Singapore to have proximity to the COO and leadership.
• This role exists to support the COO in carrying out their duties.
• The work is varied in its nature and will encompass elements of strategy, execution, business and financial analysis, and operational matters.
• An awareness of crypto is paramount. You don\'t need to know the tech inside out, but fundamentals of blockchain, private vs public, use cases, recent themes, and a view of direction of travel are critical.
