Job Summary:





The Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating daily vessel activities, including tug and towage operations. This role serves as the main contact for on-site operational matters, ensuring smooth execution and timely resolution of issues. The supervisor oversees a team of operations staff, ensures compliance with maritime regulations and company safety standards, and works closely with port authorities, ship agents, and customers to deliver efficient service.







Role and Responsibilities:



Oversee and coordinate daily tug services for the Singapore fleet. Act as the main point of contact for on-the-ground operational issues and ensure timely resolution. Supervise a team of operations officer and support staff, ensuring task delegation and shift coverage. Respond to customer queries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner. Provide operational support for the control room to oversee vessel movements and operations. Monitor real-time vessel positions, routes, and schedules using relevant monitoring systems. Maximize resources by ensuring tugboats are promptly deployed according to schedules and job requirements, closely coordinating with all relevant stakeholders to meet operational needs. Maintain clear and effective communication channels for smooth tugboat operations, promptly address any issues or concerns as necessary. Identify and resolve operational issues related to tugboat deployment by collaborating with teams to implement effective solutions. Ensure accurate records of tugboat schedules, operational activities and other relevant documentation. Respond promptly to the emergencies situation by adjusting plans and deployment on top of rendering necessary assistance. Checking for accuracy of jobs in the job order system before sending for invoicing.





Requirements:



Higher NITEC or Diploma in Maritime studies or equivalent At least 3-5 years of working experience in the marine industry. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Good understanding of tug and towage services, vessel deployment, and marine logistics. Familiarity with port procedures, maritime regulations, and safety practices. * Knowledge of local port waters is an added advantage.
