Scope of WorkCookery Room / Kitchen (Main Duties)
Assist in placing orders for food and ingredients.
Receive and store food supplies in both kitchens.
Prepare ingredients before practical lessons.
Mop and clean kitchen floors daily to remove oily/greasy stains.
Set up and sort kitchen equipment and utensils.
Maintain perishable food supplies and items with expiry dates.
Ensure overall cleanliness and prevent dust accumulation in both kitchens.
Clean refrigerators in both kitchens periodically.
Wash, dry, and keep kitchen equipment and utensils used by teachers.
Stow away crockery and utensils after drying.
Periodically clean sinks, window ledges, storage shelves, and cupboards.
Tidy up floors, sinks, and centre tables after each lesson.
Machine wash, dry, fold, and neatly store dishcloths and tea towels.
Conduct final safety checks (e.g., valves switched to neutral positions).
Maintain neat organization of utensils in shelves, cupboards, cabinets, and drawers.
Kitchen Stock-Check Duties
Replace broken glassware and ensure accountability for all equipment used in FCE/NFS lessons.
Keep a stock-book and breakage record for item replacement.
Prepare and update an annual inventory stock-list for stock-take.
Operations Support Duties
Assist in cleaning special rooms, cabinets, shelves, instruments, and equipment as directed by the Operations Manager.
Provide support in moving resources, tables, chairs, and other logistics during emergencies or school events.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Administration Manager or School Leaders.
Qualifications and Skills
Ability to read and converse in simple English (minimum Primary Six level).
At least
1 year of work experience
as a Kitchen Helper, School Cleaner, Hawker's Assistant, or in a similar role.
Basic knowledge of food handling, hygiene, and cleaning practices.
Responsible, reliable, and able to follow instructions.
